I’ll go glass half full and say there is no chance we continue to miss lay-ups at the rate we have for the last 60 minutes of game time. It’s just becoming what feels like a statistical anomaly at this point. The defense wasn’t great, but I actually thought there were a lot of shots I “celebrated” Michigan taking that went in (I’ll let Dug take off-balance deep 2’s all game long). What we can’t do is have Ty sell out stunting at the ball just to give up the three AND foul. The problem is we’re pretty beatable 1-v-1 in the post and we don’t post trap, so guys are gonna get looks around the rim. That’s where a defensive-minded Dain would really help…

He was getting beat on defense and bothered on offense. I'm surprised Underwood played him as long as he did.
That is why you play him a minute or two, take him out and let the assistants coach him up and then get him back in another minute or two and see how he responds. He played too long in one whole spell after not playing for months.

only 2 turnovers which is good but scUM only has 1. hope the defense shows up in the second half and gets some turnovers

Our defense isn’t really designed to force turnovers, so unless Michigan starts handing it over to us, I’d doubt we see a major difference in that category. What we really need to do is not let them shoot 50% from the floor.

Bardo just said we played pretty well … wow he is awful! I am confident that Brad will out coach Juwan and we find a way to play more aggressive on the defensive end and make a few more layups. :shield:
They did play well offensively. Too many blunders on defense though. But Michigan made a handful of circus shots to keep it close. Can't miss on defense for another half or road court may cost us.

I really like making them play 29 seconds or more of defense and keeping them from firing away with no pressure at the home rims. Keep the momentum from building by playing defense. If they don't score...we win!!!!!!!

I have had a 💩 day, so I’m a negative Nancy tonight. This team, without TSJ, doesn’t move the needle for me. They’re more aesthetically pleasing compared to last season, but with their only “good” win coming against a cratering FAU team, I do not see this being the team to make it past the second weekend of the tourney.

Hope I am dead wrong and I get roasted, but just my two cents.
I just want to get past the first weekend.

Well, this is what BU gets paid for. This game is really pivotal in keeping us in the 4/5 seed range. A loss and we are spiraling towards that 8/9 area for another year. Just a game we really need after MD.
