Game Thread: Illinois at Nebraska

I am watching the Illinois v. Nebraska football game. I see that Dr. Pepper is a sponsor of the game. There was a play on 4th and 1 with ~12 minutes left in the game where Nebraska ran the ball and clearly did not get a first down. Replay showed this in an indisputable way; The ball never made it to the 3 yard line. But somehow, the replay officials missed this call and called it a first down.

I know Dr. Pepper had nothing to do with this call, but I refuse to continue to support a sham of a contest. I will no longer be buying products from Dr. Pepper or any of its subsidiaries.

Correction: "The way the referees have performed these last two drives, you may not see the football again."

The refs have worked hard to ensure this outcome. Won't let it slip away now.

I asked earlier, I believe the first hand negates the horse collar. I believe horse collar rule is that the horse collar is what makes the stop, not just a part of the tackle.

Looking for clarification

We had this game...

Players just aren't there yet. Lots of improvement. Sucks we start with a blank slate next year. These kids just aren't talented enough.

That call for Nebraska was BS.

Lunt is still leaving quite a bit to be desired.

How about a running play on 3 and 1. We punt away and it equals a TD. The coaches didn't do the players any favor on that one. Good coached game overall.

It won't be a close loss now. Good effort today though. This actually gives me hope for the next couple of weeks.

Not a fun one, but somebody said that a "victory" in this game was progress. Well, they certainly showed that today. Defense looks pretty scary. Offense is utterly anemic.

Wow. Horrible coaching decision at the end of this game. Throw a fade on 3rd & 1 and then punt to a team that's just run all over you the previous drive? Come on.

at least with the spread high the refs can call a fair game for the last two minutes

You feel good about the game and coaching until we throw that garbage on 3 and 1 and then punt the freaking ball after seeing our defense couldn't hold Nebraska. Yikes, that was bad

The next couple of weeks are absolutely meaningless. It doesn't matter if we beat Purdue and Minnesota. I want to beat Nebraska and Wisconsin.
