Wasn't helmet to helmet, but definitely targeting the head.
Do you guys still not know the targeting rules? Lead with crown of the helmet or target head or neck area of a defenseless player.

I like the fight in this team.

Such a breath of fresh air to consistently gain yards on offense. 3rd and short has been so rare with this team

ASSUMING WE WIN...................

What would have made this an even more impressive trouncing of the Cornhuskers is this. BTN pregame, I walked away to grab lunch while the crew was discussing black coaches in the NCAA. It was a very serious topic, of course, and they had numerous stats to show how minority coaches are often fired too early and seldom receive a legitimate 2nd chance in the coaching ranks. Mike Locksley was one of 4 exceptions to this, btw.

I walked back into the room and saw Howard Griffith giving a sermon to the other studio hosts, with veins popping from his neck. As I sat down to rewind and find out what specific topic had him so riled up, I heard Howard say (paraphrasing), "He's a great leader of men. People should give him a fair shot, and not judge him based on a relatively small sample size! Instead, judge the man based on his full career track record."

As I clicked PLAY, I thought wow, the former Illini great is standing up for the current Illini head coach. Impressive!! Way to go Howard!!! Give Lovie some love/respect on a national stage!

I then learned during the rewind he was talking instead about James Franklin of Penn State! So much for ruining the moment. And this victory could have provided a nice stamp of confirmation on Howard's otherwise eloquent comments!

Missed opportunity maybe.....

I know this doesn't show targets, but receptions are pretty well spread around.

Today is better, against Wisky and other games he was overly targeted

looked like he had 2 head to head collisions, then hit the ground hard.

Last week game was hopefully a huge turning point! We needed a positive outcome to wake this team up! Same thing happened last year... hopefully we're able to build off of this! I just want to compete against OSU and hopefully keep it under 40 if possible! Maybe to like a 2 touchdown spread... no more than 17.

Sorry to ask, but we just got bad Covid news. How badly hurt is the player? Hoping for the best for him.

Lovie's win/loss not impressive but feel the talent level has improved. Unfortunately the BIG had improved the ladt 10 years. No Gimmies on the schedule for Illinois.

Sorry to hear that.

As for the player, I think he's stunned--I think I saw him blinking but that's about it.
