Remember when Sandfort was in the portal and the talk was that he wouldn't be able to get on the court at Illinois?

What's amazing to me is Keaton as a freshman can recognize and facilitate instead of forcing and trying to score...whereas Andrej still tries to force it. He needs to see the help coming and get it to open teammates more often. Then they respect the pass and he'll get one on one opportunities that he will win 85% of the time.

Pretty easy to discern from the stats that this game is an even battle...but they have the lead based on turnovers, our FT shooting, and exceptional 3 pt. shooting. Must cool down Sandfort and Frager or Illini will come up short. Almost certain that will be the focus, but then Mast and Hoiberg will go nuts base on the fact that the world is in a conspiracy against me.

Hoping to see AS break out and score bout 6 buckets next half. Also we were pretty effective with the Ivisic brothers on the floor together...but doing that for any length of time loses our height advantage. Lots of tactical decisions in this game. They are doing a very good job of keeping Wagler from going off. He is doing exactly what he needs to do but getting into trouble in scrums. Just keep the ball moving and hitting open triples while defending a bit smarter. Easy to say all that...Nebraska has a lot of good players and a good coach. Gotta be ready to battle.

It starts and ends with AS he kills everything because the ball does not move. He really needs to be behind Ben at this point? We are sort of screwed as we have to play AS just because his a "sort" of guard, but if we had anyone to play at this point I think we would? It just is a total collapse anytime he gets the ball. Just a mess really not sure what he can do? He just does not pass it out and it kills us every time?

They didn't shoot over...they were wide open...

Man, I'm leaving Buejxjrjf open and planting Z under the basket.....draping the rest of them at the 3pt line..if they get past you then they get a shot at Z at the basket.

His dad needs to show him film of the way he played offense, as well as film of the defenses he played against back in the day(when defense was still at least kind of a thing in the NBA) and not let him out of the room until he's memorized what to do. 👍

To be fair there is a reason why one of these guys is projected to go #6 in this years draft.

If Keaton shakes off his poor shooting in the second half, Andres sits the rest of the way, and we can figure a way to keep Nebby from raining open 3s, this game is very winnable. We were playing well until that end of half collapse when they went on a 14-2 run and we channeled our inner Three Stooges.

Keaton and Andrej combined for 5 points, 2-12 from the field, 3 TO's
5-8 from the line
4-14 from 3

And we are only down 6- I'm not exactly sure how that's possible.

This has also been one of Wagler's worst games offensively in a long time. Forget the 2-9 for a second. He's dribbling with no purpose while the shot clock runs down, then we end up in a fire drill.

This is the first game where I really feel like we're missing Kylen. No penetration on offense and our on ball defense is non existent.
