Game Thread: Illinois at Northwestern

We have 11 offensive boards and NW a total of 10 including defensive boards. Out total boards are 23 (to NW 10). NW shooting 50% to our 35.5%

We need to step up our D

The situational foul calls have been bad though. But we are lucky Shannon hasn’t gotten more offensive fouls.

Terrible defense in the first half. Northwestern is shooting 52% to our 36% and has only turned the ball over once. Offensive rebounding is the only thing keeping this close.

I mean geez, we did everything but make shots. I guess if Buie is going to hit circus shots all day you tip your cap, but we need to be better at the rim. Based on the looks though, I still think we win by 10

Probably sour grapes but Northwestern is pulling some shots out of their you know whats. The level of difficulty their last 4-5 shots has been insane. And of course we miss a bunny layup

This entire team needs to learn to block out the noise. They have to hold on to that us against the world mentality they had when TSJ was suspended.

Regardless of the outcome of this game, if I'm the staff I'm getting audio of this and piping it into practice. They all need to learn to play with that kind of stuff for this season. It'll only get more intense from here
