After watching booth and TI defensively. I think MJ will start to get some major tick as we get into the meat of the schedule.

And DGL on the court at the same time as KB will need to work itself out.

Brad tinkering with line ups to see who plays together and communicates.

Need structure to much freedom for this young team. Again, 2022-23 team.

We will see over the next week how much this team improves.

We play a hell of a Non-conference schedule. We might go 50/50. The goal is just to make the NCAA and then see what happens. I think if we have higher expectations than that, might be disappointed. As many people have said, this is a TWO YEAR plan.

A lot of predictions that KJ and Riley would be one and done. Not seeing it in this exhibition game. Both will improve dramatically as the season goes on and they adjust to the college game, but I really would like to have them both back next year. We could not have picked a better tuneup game to bring home to the players where we need to get better. Brad is playing three level chess, knowing an experienced nationally ranked Ole Miss would provide a plethora of teachable moments.

Like another 3 weeks of practice. Which makes me afraid we might be below .500 at the start of conference play….

We have zero players who can penetrate the paint. So if coaches do what beard is doing here. Pack the paint and make this team go one on one. We are in trouble.

This is what TSJ last year. Attack the rim over and over and over. We don’t have that this year. Well not yet anyway. Maybe KJ can turn into that by conference play.

This team will only be a powerhouse offensively IF we learned to move and just make the simple pass.

Meh, he'd do that if there was an effort issue. You can't beat your team up for trying to figure things out. We're going to see this type of discombobulation for a while. This is why I don't love the early schedule, but BU loves throwing his guys to the wolves early, which will benefit us late.

This is what you get early on when over half your team is made up of portal transfers. Hard to tell how hard they play for the name on the front of the jersey. Need time to gel. Time will tell. Gotta trust in Brad.

Overall. This entire weekend sucked to be an Illini fan, and it was my B/day yesterday. 2 blowouts in 2 days. Feels very 2016, good thing we have coaches that won’t make that a normal thing like 2016

I do think this team thought we could come out and just blow them off the floor. Today was a rude awakening for this team. Glad it’s a FREE game

Ranking players by the minutes I expect them each to play (this is not based upon how well each played today):

1. KJ
2. Kylan Boswell
3. Ty Rodgers
4. Tomi Ivisic (65% of Center minutes)
5. Morrez Johnson (35% of Center minutes)
6. Will Riley
7. Tre White
8. DGL
9. Humrichous (surprisingly, almost invisible today)

10. Carey Booth
11. Jake Davis
12. Jakstys

Hey KJ, in case you didn't notice dribbling for 15 seconds and then going into two defenders and trying to split the defense isn't working for you.. Definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
