Down 15 in a half where we looked like our hair was on fire for the first 5 minutes, we forgot how to rebound (25 vs 18), we made really foolish fouls, we shot awfully (35.5%) and they shot out of their minds from 3 (7 of 10). Common sense would tell us that BU will have everyone take a deep breath and then hopefully motivate them to rebound and play the aggressive defense we’ve seen most of this year. I would also assume they won’t shoot 70% from 3 in the 2nd half. I’m cautiously optimistic that we will play a much more competitive and “connected” half! Go Illini! :shield:

Here's a pic of Beef House rolls to ease the pain...

⬆️ They don’t smell as good as I remember… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Always has, imho. Low ceiling, half the diameter, fans crammed together on benches - it's built to be loud.
While I agree with your points, looking at what Illinois crowds have done, I feel like we don’t have that same edge at all. I understand underperforming teams, covid when we are good and all that, but still I think it’s not comparable to where we’ve been. Curious to see the students come back

Just wondering if anyone here has ever stood next to a guy the size of Edey? If you have, you know you will never forgot that vivid memory as long as you breathe. And there are bigger guys around!!!

Radio said 5 of their 7 threes have come off their offensive rebounds. Big advantage in the game.

Purdue shooting 28% from 2 and 70% from 3... maybe they'll start heaving them from the time line?

Rebound and get out and run and attack them at the rim is how we get into this game… let Harmon DGL Quincy Luke & Coleman just go all half. Pressure their ballhandlers and see what happens.

We put 0 of our house money down in the first half without Shannon, let’s throw the mortgage down 15.

Purdue D strategy is so smart in how they’re guarding Rodger’s. Really surprised other teams haven’t done the same. Bogged down the entire offense at the start.

Eh, it's pretty simple- Purdue is playing really well with a lot of energy, and the 3 things they do really well in rebounding, getting 2nd chance opportunities, and shooting the three they've been going off, and to be fair, we're helping them. So far, outside of Guerrier, it's been a rough night for us.

A lot will depend how the teams come out of halftime. With energy, we can claw our way back into this one, but we're going to have to do a hell of a lot better attacking the boards on defense, stopping the bad turnovers and running the offense. And can't give them second chance open threes. Let's whittle this down

The two Things Worse than watching a poor performance by the Beloved.
1) listening to the announcers
2) reading the whiney strap-hanger part-time bi*ch posters here on Loyalty in the game thread when the game is not going our way

i KNOW not to peek in here during games, yet . . .

Gotta find your man on offensive rebounds. It's the best time for kick out threes, that's elementary basketball.
