One of the worst halfs of Illini football I can remember seeing. Can you imagine what it looks like without that 2 point return and interception in the endzone?

Meh, I would say USF has 3 times the talent (or seasoned talent) that we do. I was actually pretty encouraged that we are going to be really good in a few years

Signs of life on offense needs to continue. Get this to one score game by early 4th and pressure is on USF. Let's find a way to hold together defense!

I am seeing good things on D, we've been just a step slow on a few plays. You have to feel good about the future once you get over your immediate angst at being down in this game. Both sides have tripped over their own feet in this game, but USF obviously has the better talent. I am disappointed, but not discouraged by what I've seen so far.

The only positives are that this team is young and the staff is great..also..this quarterback Flowers puts a lot of air under his passes...

I for one, am pretty encouraged, was much more worried that we would be burned by Flowers mobility. Gotta keep our heads up and keep playing and stay with it, things go right and we find an opening and capitalize and this is a game. At the end of the day we have to keep this in perspective.

Everyone needs to be a little patient. We are running underclassmen everywhere and they are competitive even with terrible QB play. USF, deservedly or not, will finish 11-1 or 12-0. We aren't at this level, yet, but you can see the potential. Our freshman class was terribly underrated from a recruiting stars standpoint

This. And those are definitely positives, don't hear me wrong. But anyone that thinks USF isn't completely dominating this game watches football much differently that I do.

I said O was looking better then BOOM, Epstein runs it in off a good call and good execution. That after some good air plays. I'm not willing to write this team off. They keep getting better. Of course, it would have been hard for the O to get worse at the start.

New game. We see what they've got. Take it to them.

+1, gaining experience in a hot and humid game, 1st college away game for most, see what they learned 1st half. We generally play better offense in 2nd.

...and there it is. Can someone explain to me why we don't just read option this thing into the ground??!!

O-Line needs to give backfield 2 more seconds and we might get a first down or two this half.

I don't get the play calling at all. Epstein pops a big run on the last drive of the half. Then gets six yards on he first play out of the half. Then we try to throw it twice? With this line? I don't get it.

Why are we passing so much? 6 yd run for Epstein last series and then 2,passes. We've had a couple streaks of 5,6 passes in a row. Why???? Our QB is a decent runner, not a good thrower. We've got good rbs. Why the hell do we keep passing!?

It would be so nice to watch a competitive Illini football game on ESPN. Maybe next year.
