Whoever said this was going to be a final four team needs to wake up. Curbelo has made two jumpers this year and thinks he’s cool so he gets a tech. This team is lost without Ayo. I will be shocked if any adjustments are made at half.

I like to believe that these are the moments last year where Ayo and his workmanlike, humble approach brought every else back down to earth.

This. We are a one trick pony so far and all the shooters we supposedly have have not shown up yet.
That will help. They have looked awesome with him not out there.
He shouldn’t mouth off. Kofi should pass out of traps. Ok. But those two are the least of our troubles. By far.
The other guys need to step up and do something offensively. Specifically Trent and grandison. Hawkins has looked ok. Would be nice to get hutcherson in there.

Not an impressive first half. Illini making a lot of mistakes, taking poor shots, turnovers, getting outhustled, not blocking out. Saunders is outplaying Curbelo at PG it seems and Cockburn is being neutralized by 2 or 3 guys. We need to make adjustments, just too much standing around by the Illini. Seems like we think we can win by showing up.
Take it easy people. I read a lot of posts this summer with people writing that this team would be better than last year’s.
We are not a good basketball team right now. Better to consistently S&#t the bed in November rather than in March. And we have been consistent for 2 games now, other that the first 5 minutes of this game. Something is just not even close to clicking. Other than dunking the ball we couldn't throw it in the ocean. Where are all these shooters I heard we had on this team?
Curbelo is a one-trick pony right now in the pick and roll. Teams know what he wants to do and the spots he wants to get to.
He needs to come off the pick looking for shooters in the corner so that things open up.
Here’s the issues. Initial game plan looked great (23-8.) They adjusted to Kofi, we didn’t adjust. Brad and Co. will honestly show their ability (or lack there of) coming out of half.

Fight like hell last year to win the B10 and B10 tourney, get a 1 seed, lose all hunger the team showed during that stretch, and lose in round 2 and come out looking like a mid to lower level B10 team this year. Maybe Ayo was our team. Really disappointing from this group and staff.
Is it just me or are we extremely weak? I feel like every time we drive into the paint we just get crushed and stuffed.
