It's like when football players want to hoop.

When I was in college at EIU, one of the intermural teams that would always make the hoops final was a team called the Florida boys. It was the football players from Florida who, while they weren't necessarily basketball players, they were athletes. So they'd just run other teams up and down the floor since they'd be in better cardio shape than their opponents.
