It is about an hour past bedtime for most....who only have a 10 minute trip home. They need to get up at 4 am to feed the animals. Next Thurs. will be a different story.
Fun story, was supposed to be at this game and would've been sitting in row 3 by the tunnel. A buddy of mine was only there to watch the ISU game and was going to let us move down from what I could afford, nosebleeds.
So I bought tickets on stubhub this afternoon, get organized, rizzed out with Chief flag in hand, get in Jeep, pick up kiddo, head to CHI on the other end of town.
Get in the building, wondering when these tickets are going to show up, and get an email saying, sorry, seller can't fulfill the order. This is 30 minutes before game time and several hours after I bought the tickets. It takes another hour before I can get a Stubhub rep on the line only to be told again that there's no alternative tickets available. At that point, what few tickets are left have tripled and quadrupled in price again.
In short, this is both wonderful and excruciating, knowing I can't afford this year to travel to any later rounds, Thursday was my last opportunity to watch the team get going for a natty and I didn't realize it.
I hope we beat these mfers by fifty. Make it a message to the rest of the field.

We keep this up another 20min and this is the best tournament game we've played since Louisville in the '05 Final 4

Guessing a lot of them are already on the road back to the Des Moines area. I make the drive between Omaha and the DSM Metro a lot. It’s a horribly boring drive.

I like Dusty May, but FAU got bailed out vs Memphis in the 1st round last year. If he loses that game is Michigan calling? Of course not.
The tournament is a small sample size and teams can just get hot, basketball is naturally flukey. We'll see how he does.

We had 58 in the second half of the Nebraska game.
That's when I knew we were for real a title contender. In a tournament in Las Vegas I believe.

I so much agree with you.. Never take a lead for granted..
Heck I can't remember a single NCAA game like this since I've been an Illini fan (1960's) Heck even the great 2005 had a tough first game and I don't remember any easy ones. Maybe the Flyin' Illini had an easy one?
