I thought this for awhile, but it keeps happening game after game, and I’m coming to the conclusion that leaving wide open free throw jumpers is not “forcing tough 2s”, it’s just poor defensive scheme and bad effort

I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that a team with such a great coach can be so poorly coached. It makes no sense.

If your focus was defense this week then why was no one within 5 feet of those two guys to end the half? Guard someone!

Another game, another fumbled opportunity at the end of the half, literally and figuratively. BU needs to start attending some coaching seminars or something.
Thought 18-22 year olds could play all day? Oh we want it both ways. Elite.

We can’t get TJ going in transition because they’re making every mother-living terrible shot they throw up
I just can’t say enough negative things right now. We have SUCH a good offense and good enough athletes I can’t comprehend how we are so bad at defense. So much potential this year and we seem to be falling apart at the wrong time for the second year in a row. I fear Brad has lost the ability to motivate this group
He's coming off an injury that kept him off the court for essentially a month ...
So no ... I don't think he can play all day quite yet ...

He's a freshman who's had a bad back and missed weeks because of it. This is the most he's played all season. Come on now.
Unforgivable...scoring the length of the court in 1 second. Guard somebody!!!!
On a positive note, Amani and DD played well.. Need their minutes to give the starters enough rest to defend. Gotta keep CoHawk in the game and offensively aggressive.

Illini losing shooting & game 62 to 49...will not work.

The first two idiots that Goode was defending both scored with ease...................He gets beat all the time on D because the opponents have scouted us enough that they know to get the ball to who ever Goode is guarding........
Understood and I missed that. But Brad pulling guys while hot is a long running theme.

I was very excited for this team earlier this year but man a lot has changed as have my expectations since the MSU game. Our defense is just awful, especially given length and talent. It is just deflating to watch them on defense. Mental lapses are draining and they never seem to stop. Being over matched is one thing and doesn't happen much but mental screw ups is another.

Yeah, unfortunately, Luke isn't good enough a shooter to justify him being on the court when his defense is basically a turnstile. Something has to give. He either needs to make every single three he shoots or he better learn how to move his feet. Either way, right now he can't be on the floor at the end of a game. That it keeps happening is maddening.
