Portal opens officially tomorrow, correct? Guessing everyone has already backchanneled but we now have a small advantage over those still playing.

7 A.M. - fire Hamer
7:15 A.M. - announce his replacement
7:30 A.M. - DGL, Tre (he has every year), Booth, Jake, and others enter portal
7:45 A.M. - Geoff on plane to Europe
8:00 A.M. - every phone in Bball office ringing every 21 year old man child out there looking for money

I am going to say I really like KJ and wish him well …but you can not convince me that he’s ready to step in and play at the NBA level right now…maybe in a year or two but not now

It’s less about Hamer being 100% responsible and more about you can’t fire Underwood, but you can Hamer, who has been largely responsible for the defensive scheme.

Brad needs a new defensive minded strategist coach because he is getting laps run around him on the defensive side. There is no adjustments whatsoever. Pope came in expecting that drop defense and preparing for it and we did nothing to offset that with any wrinkles, I’m not sure why.

Overall the team was very young this year with 4 of our 5 best players being first year players. Lots of talent, but talent that has not matured to the players they will be in 3 years. Was good to get those types of players but ultimately, first year players can’t be your go-to players without lots of ups and downs.

In this new CBB environment it seems having an older team mix with light mix of 5 start talent is the path for national titles. Hopefully Brad can adjust next year.

I've seen all the smart remarks about KJ being a lottery pick. Fine with me, and good for him. But he needs to do a whole lot more on defense, quarterbacking a team, showing leadership and heart and guts in my opinion. He may well do so, some day in the not-distant future. But now? A whole lot is missing.
