Agree, Marquette played an almost perfect, but didn’t bury us. There is hope, but we have lots of things to fix

One thing we have learned...Marquette takes their lay-up drill seriously.
Would like to see TSJ or Rodgers on Kolek. I know TSJ picked up an early foul (and should’ve had his second at the 16:00 mark), but maybe with one each BU sticks them on Kolek now? Is Ty fast enough?
Coleman hit about 5-6 open shooters despite those two piss poor turnovers. You'd think he had 0 ast and 5 TOs from this thread thought instead of 2/2.
Agree he needs to pick it up. Ighadoro is a tough cover for him but he's gotta give us better there.
Here's hoping he picks it up and we make some more of the open looks.

Right, they are shooting 54.2% on 2s compared to our 38.5% on 2s, so WAY better than us there.
Some of those shots are basically Turnovers.
Kolek=Stockton tonight
TSJ is our only defender with the size and speed to do that. They just screen him off and its a race to the rim. DGL has the quickness but is way short on defensive experience, defensive confidence, and defensive passion.
I will always hate him for fouling trent, then getting away with kicking the ball ahead to himself for the game winner against us.

Meh. By that "maximize our scoring" logic, shouldn't a team always shoot nothing but 2s, or nothing but 3s?
I could be wrong, I’m not a coach, but from what I see, ball movement is going to be limited no matter what we do, Marquette is good at guarding it, we need to make it OUR game. I still believe Dain could change the course if this game in the post and slow it up, in addition to solid defense like we played against Oakland in the 2nd half, but we need athleticism/discipline on the floor for that and we can edge this one out

Luke Goode and his replacement (Marcus Domask) are the only thing keeping us in this right now.
He's a first time All American, so I'm not surprised. This is the first time that I've seen him play. He's as good as advertised.

Wow, I didn’t realize I was so lucky to have so many college basketball coaches in the thread tonight. I cannot believe they are all here and not on the bench coaching the Illini.
I think the game-plan was “don’t let Kam Jones get going” which we’ve been able to do, but that’s come with the side effect of Kolek going nuclear on drives. Agreed we need to shift the focus to clogging up the lane, even if it means Kam gets a few off
Also, we have a better FT% than the bad guys at this point in the game. That’s a small victory!
