I told people on Friday morning that Groce will stay if he gets out of his own way. Man can he (Groce) ust make dumb decisions

Big 4 point swing to end the half. Gotta get a score to start the half to get the momentum back. I don't care how we do it but need to pull out this W.

Side note: SFC seems dead tonight,no energy or enthusiasm even some of the players seem lethargic.

I might agree with the arena. But not with the players.

Going to be an interesting second half. Bad end to the first half. Need to see a bit of urgency here.

Lot of bad shot selection from both teams that half. I'm not sure why KN ever migrates outside of 10 feet besides for screening, because his oreb rate is excellent and his long range shooting was... not. Are we going to see DJW tonight?

Trying to get his shooters on the floor came back to bite Groce there, if Malcolm can dribble with his head up and finds JCL for a 3 there, looks like the right decision.

However, if Malcolm dribbles with his head down, spins, turns it over for a buzzer beating layup, doesn't look to intelligent on Groce's part.

MH didn't let LB and MF get back before he sprinted ahead with the ball into the corner. LB and MF not exactly hustling back, and MH dumb to take it into the corner. I agree Groce was trying to get all shooters in there but ...

That move by Groce at the end of the half reminds me of some of the finest bonehead coaching decisions of Zook and Beckman... I can't even begin to fathom what he was thinking there. Grade school coaches wouldn't do that..

He put his trust in his best player to make a play. Hindsight is 20/20.

Putting best positional scorers on the floor there is a good move. Malcolm's mistake was dribble straight into a trap zone. I think all trust Malcolm to bring the ball up the court.

With all that said, MH has been the leader this season we need and I'm a huge fan. Just a few times where I feel like he presses a little too much, but overall, I'm with you, he's the leader we need.

His best player turns the ball over at the end of the half IMHO 67% of the time. It's not good odds. Never has been. Good player, better person. Not someone I want the ball in his hand to create a play to end a half or win a game.

The possession immediately following the shot he hit on the right elbow did you happen to see him try to step through two defenders as he was being trapped and immediately turn it over?

He's made a similar play successfully numerous times this season. Typically leads to a favorable outcome, and I trust him to try to make that move because we know he can do it, and he can draw fouls or get great looks for him/teammates on that move at a great rate. Calculated risk, not playing hero ball. Great ball handlers do it all the time.

There is no excuse for some of these brain farts by Groce

You cant recruit these high level pg's and then basically assume that they haven't been in these situation before because they are freshmen. Basketball is now a year round sport .

Get out of your pwn way JG.

There is basically no penetration at all from the ft line extended to the baseline almost all of our driving attempts come from the top of the key. If we had one person that could do that consistently it would open up this entire offense

He did the same earlier and drew a foul

The play I believe you're referring to was where he was trapped in the corner and he didn't have many other options, the play I'm referencing was at the top of the key where a simple ball reversal would have sufficed.

Head scratcher taking out your pg there....need to buckle down in the second half. I smell a run by Maryland. Just need to withstand it.
