Big 4 point swing to end the half. Gotta get a score to start the half to get the momentum back. I don't care how we do it but need to pull out this W.
Side note: SFC seems dead tonight,no energy or enthusiasm even some of the players seem lethargic.
There are still flashes of MH reverting back to last year where he seems to think he still has to do everything.
Trying to get his shooters on the floor came back to bite Groce there, if Malcolm can dribble with his head up and finds JCL for a 3 there, looks like the right decision.
However, if Malcolm dribbles with his head down, spins, turns it over for a buzzer beating layup, doesn't look to intelligent on Groce's part.
Disagree, I think MH has been mostly fine. No real problems with his showing today

Illinois made 2 layups and 11 jumpers. UMD made 7 layups and 4 jumpers. So, don't be surprised if you see a very different 2nd half.
The possession immediately following the shot he hit on the right elbow did you happen to see him try to step through two defenders as he was being trapped and immediately turn it over?
He put his trust in his best player to make a play. Hindsight is 20/20.

He did the same earlier and drew a foul
That move by Groce at the end of the half reminds me of some of the finest bonehead coaching decisions of Zook and Beckman... I can't even begin to fathom what he was thinking there. Grade school coaches wouldn't do that..
His best player turns the ball over at the end of the half IMHO 67% of the time. It's not good odds. Never has been. Good player, better person. Not someone I want the ball in his hand to create a play to end a half or win a game.
