Does anyone seriously challenge the claim that we don’t have the players yet to do better? McCray is a true freshman of the sort that we need at every position.

Sorry, but this shows you haven't been around a program. The HC will always have some influence, especially on the side of the ball in which they spent their time as an assistant.

Also, to imply that Beckman or Lovie failed primarily (at least that's how I took it) because of their initial OC hires and keeping them around too long is a pretty big stretch. The jury should remain out on Petersen until a full season is in the books. People were ready to have Walters fired after last week, and he was considered a huge pickup from another P5 program.

Okay? That's not inconsistent with what I said.

(Bielema was a DC fwiw. There are 4 DC's on our staff, Bielema, Walters, Kane, Buh)
