Game Thread: Illinois vs Maryland

Maryland running the layup drill to perfection. All the Illini can do is watch. I'm going to give us the benefit of the doubt and chalk this one up to multiple players who are in different stages of flu infection. This looks nothing like an Underwood coached team. Brad's not getting on them much because I think he knows how sick his players are.
I thought I was the only one that noticed this, my initial thought was they practice them

What happened to the good defense we were playing for servers games? We are getting dog walked by Maryland at home... getting out hustled, out played, out rebounded, our everything.
Teams watch film. They adjust to us, especially what Izzo did to our offense. Brad doesn't know how to counter. This is the mess you wind up with. When has he ever made a good in-game adjustment? I can't recall one.

What a difference 5 days makes on your view of this team.
KJ and Bam averaging ~6 turnovers per game for the season.
KJ is out, Tomi is out, the refs, 11AM games, sickness. This team is long on excuses, short on wins.

Such a disappointing performance in front of our fans at home. We would have lost this game even with Ivisic. Despite all the accolades- KJ was terrible in this game. So many careless and untimely turnovers both passing and dribbling. He really doesn't have an NBA ready dribble at this time. And as good as Morez might be someday, whether with the Illini or not- he isn't close to the level of Maryland's 2 bigs. Ben abused down low over and over again and contributed nothing on offense.
How is it that over and over again- an opposing player has a career night against us?
Seems our ceiling would be to go on a great end of the year roll, end up a 4 or 5 seed because of all these loses we are piling up, and play Duke or Auburn in an Elite 8 game and lose again. Our floor is to lose in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
And this performance in front of a bunch of recruits- ughh!

We've just folded out there. We're really not playing well obviously, but hate seeing this body language. We look absolutely done.
100% on Brad. Guys were completely unprepared and continue to be undisciplined. No Every Day Guys tonight. Certainly no tough, smart, and dependable play.
Nobody looked good. Did Booth look worse than Rez tonight? Worse than KB? Worse than KJ? Nobody brought it tonight, except possibly DGL. Poor effort all around.
Maybe the worst played game I’ve had the pleasure of watching in a couple years? Can’t blame the refs for this one
