Game Thread: Illinois vs Northwestern

Except a pride thing and better bowl game this doesn’t seem like a super consequential game. I think it will be kind of fun to watch… on tv.

We turned back at Bloomington. Blowing snow in open countryside defeated the salt. I-74 was fine anywhere the wind was blocked even a little. It would have been a long drive each way at 40-45 mph.

I want the hat and I want seniors to end the regular season with a W. Especially the ones who will most likely opt-out of the bowl.

I’m loving the pictures. I just moved to SW Florida a couple months ago and am jealous of all the die hards at the game tonight.

I guarantee the players will be miserable tonight but will remember this game for the rest of their lives.

Just parked after a 2+ hour drive from the SW suburbs (I live right off I-80). Pretty eerie drive with few cars (first time I didn’t spot a UofI decal or bumper sticker). Dozens of vehicles in ditches including trucks and a charter bus. I-57 was functional in northern IL but got pretty scary once you got into Champaign County. I made the horrible mistake of exiting early on Market St which was not plowed.

Got a cheap $16 parking ticket in Lot 31 right in front of the stadium where someone has a bonfire. Add the $7 game ticket and this might be the cheapeast game I’ve ever attended.

I'll happily eat crow- but I think we lose this one... We've lost momentum-conditions favor Northwesterns game.. they are clicking on all cylinders right now- we will have 0 home crowd advantage with the snow.

Must win game Bret- Hope we come out prepared.
