Pretty rough, but what do you expect. We're still fighting.

We're so flat and Purdue has really made the adjustments since the first game. Not looking good. Just hope we can close it up some and keep playing hard the second half.

Going to be a long row to hoe in the second half.

felt like we only scored 5 points in the last 10 minutes.....Wait....

This game was always going to be a tall order.

Despite the score, I'm not upset at all and I'm sure I'm not alone. Just happy that Illinois was able to get this far. Hope for an upset in the 2nd half but this is more basketball than I was expecting. I'm already in 2016-17 mode, I guess.

It's simple. Realistically they are too big for us underneath. The only chance Illinois has in a game like this is either for Purdue to forget their big or for Illinois to be about +15 from the 3 point line. Well Purdue has remembered they are big and Illinois is -12 at the 3 pt line.

No matter the outcome I'm proud of our guys for making some noise in the BTT. Build off it for next year.

Let's be honest we never should have beat Purdue in game 1. We can thank Painter for letting us dictate that game and let his guys settle for long shots the entire game. Tip your cap to Painter, he figured it out and adjusted.

Would have been really nice to have Thorne, Black, and Darius Paul for this game, eh?

+1

We saw marked improvement from so many players as the year went on.

Maybe we can call a moratorium on petty jabs at players & coaches in the second half? Rational criticism is one thing. Saying players are worthless is another.

It's the last half of the season, and this team went through A LOT this year.

We got Iowa in the BTT. If we go down today, the fact we beat Iowa will be enough to sustain me.

That, and the excitement about next year's squad and the recruits we've got lined up!

Yeah, hard to be too upset at this point. We beat a team yesterday we really had no business beating so this is bonus basketball. Purdue is a tough matchup for us even on a good day because of their size and when they hit some 3's there's almost no way we have a chance especially on tired legs.

Just hope the guys continue to battle and scrap the way they have the last few games. If we can get it down to 12 or so by the end of the game it would be a little positive to carry into the offseason.

Keep after it boys!

If this was game 1 of they tourney for us I think we'd all be disappointed. But when its obvious they just have more gas in the tank than we do, what can you say?

Only way we even make it close is if we have 3+ guys all go straight unconscious from 3. But after beating IOWA yesterday, I'm ok with that.

Maybe Josh talked to them during the break.
