Nothing to do with the game, but Texas Tech itself:

~ 30 years ago I was a greenhorn working on a chemical plant project financing on the Gulf Coast. The senior chemicals business manager for our company at the existing plant was a solid guy: Bob. Probably early 50s, chemical engineer, no-nonsense, laconic West Texan. Over lunch (killer BBQ in a literal shack) I lamely attempted conversation and asked Bob where he was from.

Bob: "Lubbock."

Me: "Oh; I know that Texas Tech is in Lubbock. Did you go there?"

Bob: "Yes."

Me: "What else is in Lubbock besides Texas Tech?"

Bob: "The horizon."

:ROFLMAO: That still makes me chuckle decades later.

Am looking forward to seeing what the team has under the hood as the rubber meets the road this evening. :illinois:
LOL. True. I've been there once; really flat and dusty. Football stadium is the most prominent structure, and can be seen from miles away.

I’d love to see a section of the Orange Krush — perhaps behind the 2nd half visitors’ basket — be known as “The WOODshed. You could have everyone dressed in orange tracksuits and carrying big wooden paddles. There’s lots of creative things you could do there. It would be reserved for the most fanatical and energetic of the students.
Think it would be the Pizza Hut parking lot

Had my fingers crossed for the orange Flyin’ Illini uniforms (or better yet, a surprise debut of one of the two throwbacks in one of its “missing” colors), but considering how much eye bleeding we’ve had to do looking at 1LL1NO1S uniforms lately … I’M PUMPED! 😎

(If we lose this game vs. the #11 team, prepare for the Script to be declared as worse luck than the defaults because those were worn to beat two cupcakes! 😂)

GO ILLINI!

Before you ask, yes this Michigan — Wake Forest game will run long. Make alternate plans on the Fox Sports app while you can.

I wish we were healthy.
This would have been a good game to better see just where we are at, what is working now and what is to be expected.
Should prove to do that anyway I guess.

Go Illini. Looks like the Mich game probably won't go into overtime. Looks like Mi will begin to pull away at the start of the second half.

Texas Tech would put their own players in that section.

Edit: I'm too proud of this to let it go over heads. Mike Leach (RIP) got fired from TTU for allegedly locking a player in the equipment shed.

The time is now. Are we elite? Or are we just on the cusp? We shall know where we stand shortly. Excited for this game, should be a lot of good film to improve no matter the outcome.

ILL - 92
TT - 87
