The talking airheads are slobbering all over themselves about UConn. Time to shut them up and make them eat their own words

I don't know about you guys/gals, but I'm not worried. This has a completely different feel from when we played them in the EE. Expect another major halftime adjustment from Daddy Brad. We shall start pulling away around the 8:00 mark (y)

Just terrible, terrible shooting. Where were the Andrej drives when we had the lead and in the bonus? But he's gotta make FTs in that situation. Or feed Tomi a few times down low. We've been good at adjustments in the tournament so far. We need some now. And we need to hit open shots.
Tomi can’t go one on one with Reed down low. That’s why they only went that way when he sat. The plan is shoot threes and get offensive rebounds and when that breaks down get Wagler and Drej going downhill. So far only the last of those has had any effectiveness.

Slow movement and then forced, long range shots. Let Boswell run the offense and kick it into high gear.

We're 21% from 3, they're 38% difference in the game. Reed will get his. But we cannot shoot 20% from 3 and win without a massive effort to drive the basket. 9 assists for them 1 for us is another big negative. Passing has to be better.

Tomi and Drej look to be the only ones completely composed. We had a chance to extend and Keaton took a terrible shot, turned it over and followed it up by taking another terrible shot.

We have to pick a poison here. We either have to eliminate Reed by doubling and hope they go cold or let do our best to play man up on him and chase them off the three point line. They're getting both. The defense has been absolutely atrocious.

I just noticed on the halftime recap that the nearly solid orange from the Illini fans behind the basket UCONN was shooting at made for a much better shooting background than what we had on the other end. I wonder if things switch a bit in the second half.

We got by Iowa shootingb17% from 3. Not going to happen again.

29 freaking points.

Please, guys. Move the ball, drive and kick, hit some shots. And soon.
That isn't the offense, it's ball screen iso. It would be great if we had some movement off the ball in conjunction with the iso screen. I mean we never actually penetrate immediately off the screen.

I hesitate to say...but I think Bam could muscle him better than any of our big guys

I think defense has been ok for the most part. Effort is better on rebounds, someone has to make an open look or we need Andrej to go nuts driving the ball and getting fouled

I agree. I think IL is matching the physicality,

Out-rebounded UConn 20-16
Blocks 4-1
FTA: 9-2

Comes down to the 3 point line. I think UConn is gonna give Tomi open 3s. And they seem ok with giving Wagler deep ones. So it’s on those guys to make them.

He can still get a catch and kick. We were just content to dribble then jack threes, several that didn't draw iron. Just dumb, dumb basketball for the final 5 minutes of that half. That has been a problem in several games this year. If threes aren't falling, no plan B.
