No. You couldn't. There isn't some gigantic conspiracy where the replay officials and refs are conspiring against our team. There wasn't enough evidence to overturn the onfield decision. If Kaden holds onto the freaking ball there, we wouldn't have put ourselves in that situation. Hopefully we'll make more of our own luck in the second half.

A 10 point swing to end the half is just brutal. I hope that puts some fire in the Illini to play some inspired ball right from the first possession after coming out of the tunnel.

We played that whole sequence perfect. D got the stop. We were eating clock. Then we got bent over. Simple as that. No question it was a usc is a big boy call.
Yep, if ball isn't seen moving prior to shoulder hitting ground, that's the ground helped cause the fumble. If roles were reversed, they would've overturned the call to give USC the ball at the 1.

the fumble by Feagin cost the Illini 10 points.........big turn around.....not positive it was a fumble , JMHO...............

Clark with a BIG pass defend on the trojans 4th down play........

the lads are competing at an elevated level , compared to last week....I'm impressed with the attitude we have today , but I'm worried about our secondary coverage....our zone play needs to tighten up.................

Just curious - why the eye roll? I don’t think what I said is that controversial or even particularly negative. It’s just an objective statement that it’s very hard to hit above a certain ceiling until you are consistently churning out big recruiting classes at both the high school and Portal level.

Other than that fumble you couldn’t ask for a better half.

Luke hasn’t been sacked.
IL offense controlled the ball.
And USC has done their usual thing of committing a lot of penalties.

I don’t see IL defense stopping USC so going to need to keep the offense on the field

I hope the team is in the locker room PISSED THE HELL OFF right now after that horrible review call and they come out with a chip on their shoulder and just take it to USC.

Should be up 21-7 with the ball. Never underestimate B10 refs’ ability to screw things up

Gosh, I've calmed myself down- I think what was so frustrating is we end the way we did, but prior to that, my goodness we played well.

I was ready to come on here and gush about our physicality and how well we ran the ball. That's the one thing that gives me hope for this half. Please keep running the ball effectively.

C’mon now. After last week we were one bad call from literally having a PERFECT first half to this game.

Finding perspective as an Illinois Football fan is harder than quantum physics.
It's because some fans come in expecting us to be horrible and lose because we're Illinois and they're whoever. We could be up by 14 right now and the same people would still be saying we suck for whatever reason and claim it's realism. Just how it is.

Fire these officials and the lazy replay official. Have some accountability. This is why we need robots - enough humans reffing there games. These guys are straight up garbage.

Look, I get the emotion, but the fact that there are plenty of fans on here telling you that it's either a fumble or that there wasn't enough evidence on video to overturn the onfiled call should make it pretty clear to those of you wearing these that it isn't the refs. Our team needs to focus on what we can control, step it up, and secure the ball when we carry it in the second half, and we'll win.

The play was close, but ultimately, Feagin has to secure that ball at all costs. If the ball doesn't hit the ground, there's no replay needed. Just a critical mistake that can't happen. No other way to slice it.
