Always been the case, but every B1G team had to use perimeter defenders to double Edey....and all their players could shoot a great % from the arc.
This is the first time the Boilers have faced someone that could make it tough for Edey to score with only one defender while staying home on their shooters.
It seems to work pretty well...huh?
Of course, UConn has buckets in every uniform on the other end....their low scorer for the game is off the bench...Johnson...and he has two dunks.

With how complete this UConn team is, it was a bad plan. They can just spread their aggressiveness and fouls everywhere and have more to spare. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
Other stats of the game: Rebounding. 35-26 UCONN, offensive 13-6 UCONN. Purdue non Edey scoring in the second half - 4 points.

For the outcome of this game? Obviously not. I was merely making the point that UConn is quite efficient despite not being great shooters.
I've been saying all year that Purdue is very beatable. They have three productive players and a bunch of frequent no-shows. The moment one of those three players also has a bad game it's lights out. This does not look much different from their usual games.
The difference here is that UCONN plays really good defense. You wonder how they ever lost a game this year.

Bama was a top 15 team all year and was an offensive power. They were better than UNC
PU was the number 2 seed overall
They earned it this year can’t have a much tougher route. I think a healthy Houston team could have matched up well. ISU could play defense but wouldn’t scored enough
