Games Thread - The National Championship

UConn is ice cold from 3. If they were hitting at even an average rate, this is a blowout.
Yeah they are not great shooters. (If they were, then their average margin of victory would be like 50 points. Lol.)
They definitely have their droughts.

Great Defense and solid execution on O, though…

Oh well...I guess I will have to be grateful that SH is coming back...and that is wonderful news for the Illini.

I kinda wanted to see Purdue win cuz B1G and Hurley is annoying, but I gotta say I am respecting the hell out of this UConn team.

Do shooting percentages even matter anymore when you're about to win a title game by 20?

I like UCONN and Dan Hurley and also don’t like purdue but also don’t like that the big ten hasn’t won a championship in so long

Why has PU been jacking so many midrange shots?
Because if u miss a three it is a layup the other way. It was the same reason we didn’t shoot many. U have to make 50% to make it work

Take the three away from PU and they are average

UConn adjusted the high pick and roll coverage to perfection. Castle gets screened off and the other guard comes to pick up Smith so that he can’t get to the lane.

O/U on how many times Hurley says "systematically" in the post.game presser?

Picking who I want to win in this game has been a conundru. I like the UCONN players, but not a fan of their coach. The opposite is true for me and Purdue.

There's really nothing negative I can say about how this UCONN team plays. They're just really really really good. Our 2005 team was otherworldly good and while it pains me to say it, this UCONN team might have beaten that team 4 out of every 5. This is the best college team I've seen in a long long time.
Fast. Long. Play very hard on defense and have quick feet and hands. Fluid athletes.

They have shooters, but could use another one (Castle would be something else if he could shoot well).

It is an impressive team, for sure.

Everyone I talked to here in Purdue-land said Edey is better than Clingan. And he is but , what they didn't realize is that Clingan doesn't have to be better than Edey. Just be able to defend and make it difficult 1 v 1.

This tournament has been another version of the UCONN Invitational. Alabama pushed them for a bit in the second half, but other than that....they've dog walked the field again. Don't like when we have years with a prohibitive favorite.
