One other thing to think about. Unless Andrej wants to challenge the Friday's executive order in Federal Court, he would need to sit out next year should he choose the transfer portal.

Got to work on this...

Solo Ball is in a boot. His status for Monday game is up in the air. No doubt will be a huge blow for UConn.

So, presuming Michigan would win against either UConn or Illinois...

Better to lose last night to UConn or to a B1G foe?
Better not to get beat by Huskies twice.

If Hurley and UConn somehow win tomorrow….he may be an arrogant punk, but man….give him his accolades.

As for May, hope he moves onto UNC. Since there is no smoke on that front, I’m imagining UNC waiting on May and Michigan season.
Hot take, does UNC kick the tires on Hurley?

Why would it be better to lose in the semi-final than to be national runner up?
I'd much rather have it go down in the record books that we lost a close game vs UCONN versus a 96-68 drubbing vs Michigan. That's what UCONN is in for. We'll always be able to say "what if". The way they handled us in Champaign, then have preceded to make the tournament field look like grade school teams.....I'm good with how it ended up.

Saw an instagram of UCONN chads cussing out and flipping off Illini fans as they left th game.

I know who to hold my nose and root for now. I want UCONN smashed and May to go to UNC ripping the hearts out of scUM.

Saw some UConn basketball bros yelling and barking at strangers as they confidently marched into Hooters

I'm no fan of scUM but I want this:

A B1G team won the football NC
A B1G team won the Women's BB Natty
I want a BiG team to win the Men's BB Natty

Raise the conference prestige and shut up the "it just means more" yappers down south. Along with everyone else.

I don't want either of the SOB's to win , so ole pru is gonna organize a " No Champs March " today and I hope to get numbers like the No Kings march a while back......................................................................................................................./s........................

There's only one team I'd prefer to lose to MU, and it's the one they're playing tonight.

One reason to cheer for michigan is when the top of a conference does well, there is pressure on the other schools to catch up and compete. If the best of the big ten can't win a national title, then where is the pressure for for schools like ours to go after one.

I'll word it a little different with an example.

When it became clear that bama was running away with the sec, other already very successful programs fired their very good coaches...with pretty recent national championships.....to aim higher. Thats what was required of them to compete. Without that pressure, everyone would have stayed where they were thinking all was good.

The bar for competing for a national championship is much higher than moderate occasional success, which is where we are now. If you are let say northwestern, you want the top of the conference static and struggling to be more attainable. A school like illinois aiming for their first national championship will benefit from that upward pressure of conference success.

Tonight's results have absolutely no impact on our longterm outlook. Seeing the gap between us and Michigan (and Duke/Arizona for that matter) this year does show we have room to grow, but we do not need them to win a natty for us to feel upward pressure (being 4 games behind them in conference title race is more of a motivator).

That is just a strange argument, imo. If anything, losing to UCONN in the Final Four has more impact on us to put in the effort to get back to the table again.

Also your example of Bama makes no sense to your global argument...they did not win a natty.
