Kind of excited about this match tonight, been too long without it.

How many caps does one need to be tied to a country? Used to be just one, I believe, but am pretty sure that's changed. FWIW, want to get Slonina locked down.

Got it: greater than 3 matches, including friendlies

USA wins 1:0.

The play that Weah made to get around his defender leading to the goal...that's a handball, no? He pretty clearly changed the direction of the ball played to him by McKennie with the back of his right arm. I'm surprised there wasn't any discussion of it during or after the broadcast, or any look on VAR.

Other CONCACAF scores from tonight:

Jamaica 1:2 Mexico
Honduras 0:2 Canada
Costa Rica 1:0 Panama

Top 4 in the table remain the same with Costa Rica's victory closing their gap for the final playoff spot with Panama down to 2 points.

First non-host team has qualified from AFC for the World Cup.

Iran defeat Iraq yesterday 1:0 and is guaranteed to finish in the top 2 in Group A. South Korea could potentially join them on Tuesday with a win vs. Syria or a loss by the UAE to Iran.

CONCACAF scores from today:

Canada 2:0 USA (Wasn't able to watch the match due to dealing with a bad headache all day but it sounds like the U.S. got beat at their own game)
Panama 3:2 Jamaica
Mexico 0:0 Costa Rica
Honduras 0:2 El Salvador

Canada remains in 1st with 22 points and has all but clinched their spot in the World Cup. They would need Costa Rica to lose on Tuesday at Jamaica and get at least a draw themselves at El Salvador to clinch no worse than a 4th place finish in the table. The U.S. and Mexico are tied for 2nd with 18 points with the U.S. ahead on goal differential. Panama is now only 1 point behind with 17 points. Panama's win and Costa Rica's draw severely impacts Los Ticos' chances as they are now 4 points back of Panama.

Tyler Adams and Chris Richards out for Wednesday's World Cup qualifier vs. Honduras. Adams has a hamstring injury and Richards is nursing an ankle injury.

Honduras was the first team in the Octo eliminated from qualifying for the World Cup with their loss to El Salvador yesterday.

South Korea, without Son, defeated Syria 0:2 and gets the 2nd automatic qualification spot for the World Cup from Group A in AFC. The third spot, who would go into a single leg play-off with the 3rd place team from Group B, is now to be decided between the UAE, Lebanon, and Iraq. The UAE and Iraq play each other during the final set of qualification matches that begin on March 24th.

Meanwhile in Group B, things got a bit tougher for Australia to get an automatic qualification spot after their 2:2 draw away to Oman and Japan's 2:0 win vs. Saudi Arabia. Australia's final two matches during the final qualification window next month will be home to Japan and away to Saudi Arabia, both of whom are currently above them in the standings.

Also of note, in CONMEBOL tonight, Ecuador can clinch the 3rd automatic qualification spot from the confederation with a win in Lima vs. Peru.

Weather is gonna be flippin' outstanding for today's match. Really, really hope this doesn't backfire on us.

I'll say I think it's simply stupid to schedule a game in February in Minnesota. Poor weather and what I assume will be correspondingly poor field conditions are talent equalizers. We have more talent and should beat Honduras at any reasonable site in the U.S.

I get that you want the crowd to be overwhelmingly American, but something like North Carolina seems like it would have been a much better idea.

Field conditions shouldn't be too much of an issue since the field is heated, much like the one in Columbus they played in last week.
