I'm not sure Goode had much if a chance. I thought he was doing as good as those ahead of them when he had a chance and he should only get better

I think Houston is goo but there were times in this game where they were begging us to take control and we never did. Early in the game when it was sloppy for both teams and early in the second half.
Illinois has now lost 5 straight games as the 4 seed against the 5 seed going back to 1986.
Happy to be playing in March again but this outcome was not surprising. Looking forward to the new roster and more success.

Damonte was an unsung warrior.
These guys brought the program out of the basement, won the Big Ten and Big Ten Tournament, and have accomplished more than enough in their careers.

It's a meh for me. We gotta get more athletic and long at the guard spot.
It was there for us to grab. We couldn't get our heads out of our collective behinds long enough to sustain any kind of momentum.

I’m sorry, but that was extremely unfair to our players. They were f@cked all game long by this officiating crew which meant every player was second guessing what they were doing and not just playing. They deserved a chance to compete without wearing a 40lb sack all game.
There is much to be excited for with our program, but that was fundamentally unfair. We deserved our loss last year because of our play. Friday’s game and this game were just plain unfair to our team. I’m incensed at the travesty we saw today. Let the kids play a fair game and whoever wins, wins.

I don't think his adjustment is great either but he did put two freshmen up and they were productive. Like last game, Houston simply exposed the deficiencies of Trent/Plummer/DMW, smaller guards who don't slash that well. So when you are in their faces, they have to force shots. Brad didn't see that early enough in the season.

He certainly would be a mismatch sizewise at the 3, but don't think he's quick enough.
I'm really sad, not so much for the loss, or even how we lost or how we played, but I'm sad this is the last time I'll get to see Trent and Damonte, and almost certainly Kofi wearing the orange and blue. End of an era. It was a good season, just a bad ending, and not enough consistency to get over the top. RJ, Luke, and Podz, you've got some big shoes to fill but I've liked what I've seen thus far. Wishing you all the best next year. Sad day.
