I was curious and decided to google "2016-17 Okla State basketball highlights". The first two games that popped up were (1) home vs. Texas, and (2) at KSU. Both were wins.

#1 takeaway = Illinois basketball is going to look a lot different under BU!! Jawun had free reign. Lots and lots of fun. Alley oops galore! Power forwards need not apply.

There seems to be a trend here...look at overall size of entire team...

Flying ILLINI days here we come back for 2.0!

I think just from listening to BU talk, the 89 team is what he sees as the perfect team for what he wants to run. We will see in the next 2 years with the classes that come in, BUT Smith , Trent , and DaWill are a good start to that. Then guys like Ayo, THT, EJ, Finke, Okoro and Whitney all would help as well

With summer workouts starting soon, to all the twitter users Adam Fletcher typically posts updates and videos of the teams workouts.

For comparison purposes:

My son's best friend and our HS point guard (currently a rising Senior) blew out his ACL during our Christmas tournament in 2016. I see him at our house routinely and he is progressing slowly/methodically through his physical therapy. He is hopeful of playing at the start of the 2017-18 season. No guarantees that will happen, however.

While I realize D. Williams receives superb medical treatment and training, I'm skeptical that he'll be back to full speed --- and ready for Big 10 competition --- by this coming November/December. If true, that means we'll have just 8 scholarship players in the gym, based on the roster we currently have. Seems a little thin......

Let's go get some athletes!

Good grief. What a reel.

He's the type of player that I fear an Illinois team going up against. So glad we have another one on the team again.

Bigs or not next year..I think we might be watching the start of something we haven't seen in 10 years. With BU's offense, and the guards that we have on the roster I think we are going to be really fun to watch. Smith/Frazier/DW/Alstork/Lucas is one of the best backcourts in the Big Ten IMO. Add AD/THT to the mix in 2018..I think we can realistically expect sweet 16 or better for the time that Underwood is here. Guards win you games in the NCAA tournament, and we have some really really talented kids that want to be here.

Brad Underwood is ahead of the game with his style of play. The NBA game is moving toward positionless players that shoot the 3 and drive the lane. Golden State and Cleveland aren't big teams. Sometimes you'll see Draymond Green as the biggest guy on the floor for GS. That said, we'll still need a little help on the front line.

So there's this kid named Mark Smith who's pretty good...

Wow that double alley oop at 1:40 was sweet. So was the one handed catch to two handed dunk putback earlier in the reel. Having a combo guard with that type of athleticism is gonna be fun to watch. It sure has been awhile. With Alstork and DaWill having similar skills, hopefully we'll be seeing a lot of dunks from our guards this season.

Roll out a lineup with Smith, Alstork, Kipper and Leron n' tell me we can't compete.

While I hope we add a big or two for upcoming season, I'm not really that worried. Given the players we lost to graduation, transfers, and a late start on recruiting I'll be happy with competitive and fun to watch. Get players acclimated to Underwood's system and make real head way in recruiting for 2018 and 2019, and I'll be a happy camper.

nothing like a new MS highlight video to make all the worries disappear

yeah depending on who you put out there with those 4 you just move them up or down as to who they have to guard. TJL makes Black your Big, put Finke in makes Smith your point, DaWill, Trent, and AJ all fit in Different ways Making for a lot of different combos. IF BIG BIG IF we could land someone like Sims and or Greg Eboigbodin we would really be on our way up

Left knee.

I believe he went down early in Dec, and had surgery shortly after. So it's been over 5 months. Never experienced one, and don't know what is typical healing for these. I've heard it takes roughly a year, and how seriously you rehab makes a difference in how stable it is when you come back. Also, I think the more athletic you are, the more stress you're going to put on it.

Lord knows there have been some horror stories of guys re-injuring them. I suppose that's true of most serious sports injuries, but man, what a bummer to be out of commission that long.

Anyway, I wouldn't expect any meaningful info on that until practices start.
