I stand by my claim. Kipper and Alstork are the only two players for whom I don't see any reason they would not start. I think it's those two, a PG (probably Lucas), a big, and one other guy....my guess is Mark Smith.

No way Lucas starts over Smith

Cover page of ESPN.com is an article on the Midwest coaching changes, and how Ohio St/Indiana/Illinois will all be fighting for Midwest recruits. Wouldn't be surprised if miznoz was mentioned.

If only I had ESPN Insider urgh

You are not missing anything, believe me. I cancelled my subscription after they fired all of those mysterious people that everybody got so upset over. I think they're called "writers," and they generate this thing called "content."

EDIT: without actually revealing anything about the article, I'll simply say that the article was dated even at its publishing time of this morning. ESPN sucks.

I think if DW comes back anywhere close to 100 %, he'll be right in the heart of our minutes discussions.

I don't think mins are going to be a big deal for anyone, I do not see anyone playing over 30 mins and wouldn't be shocked to see everyone play over 8-10

This forum has a tendency to discard proven players on the team and have sky-high hopes for inexperienced frosh.

I blame it on Groce.

Pretty sure you can't pin that one on John Groce. I have beef cattle and I'm always amazed that guys will pay double the money for a fancy yearling heifer over a proven 3 or 4 year old cow that has had calves and is ready to go to work. The grass is always greener and potential is always unlimited. It's the lure of the imagination.

DaW was looking great before the injury. Thinking he may have to redshirt considering we have Smith, Lucas, Frazier, Alstork, and Jordan at guards. But eager to get Damonte back.

Lucas Frazier
Smith Williams
Alstork Jordan
Nichols Ebo/Vesel
Black Finke

Added bodies downlow helps so much now.

Remember when we were gonna play "small ball"? :)

I know there are YouTube videos and I have watched some of the offense but I was wondering does anyone know if Underwood switches screens on defense or not? If we are getting guys who are on average taller across the board and athletic it would make pressure defense more effective. The NBA has gone to that so I was curious about him. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows. Sidenote......I think this season is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

I wouldn't expect Vessel to contribute much this season especially early in the year if he's not reporting until August. Going to be a big adjustment to everything for him, being in a new country, college life, and learning a new system.

Glad to have another legit big on the roster though!

Spicy G and Auto Matic. All that time chasing transfers, guess BU said get the young guys, we need someone taller than me. :p

I like this way a lot more, get them young, coach them up and get 2 3 4 years out of them, rather then 1/2 to a year

I think a much more interesting question than who are the Starting 5 is who are the 5 on the court with 3 minutes left in a tight game.

I am hoping walks-on more then half the games

I'm hoping you missed the operative word "tight." I'd prefer not to see walkons with 3 minutes left unless the lead > 25.

no I didn't miss it I am hoping a tight game means we are up by 15 or so, I am hoping we run teams out of the gym

Just look at the 2007-08 roster with 8 players 6'7 or bigger, including 7'1", 6'11", 6'10" and 3 6'9"s. We're still playing small ball. I prefer this team to that team, but we are still playing relatively small ball.

His FIBA page said he's 19. He's skinny for his height but maybe that extra year will help him in some way.
