Underwood did not convince Alstork to use his last year or Smith to come here to have a "shot at the Big Dance". People need to raise their expectations. I'll bet my beach house that the ILLINI are in the Big Dance next year and it won't be because they beat Rutgers in the final conference game to sneak in. There is more than enough talent and coaching to make that happen in a Big Ten that is watered down after the top 4 or 5 teams. Underwood teams make the NCAA Tournament. Nothing less is acceptable to him.

That dunk by AJ, wow! If he can put it all together this year and make a jump then I think we are a 20-22 win team at worst. Need someone to back up the 2/3 spot and he has the most experience on the team besides MA24

Like to see a team photo. Size difference listed between MS and TF appears to be much smaller than listed. Wonder how accurate the listings are.

Early games will be very interesting. Coach may know rotation before that but we will still see some experimenting with different combinations. We all have our opinions but only those present for practices will see the progress of new and old players. Still of the opinion that defense and passing will be more important than small differences in shooting percentages. Hoping that we get to see more clips of practices. One way of keeping the fan base excited and selling tickets. Are you listening JW?

Reading something last couple of days that the coaches talking about MF at 4 spot. Guessing now we have some back up for both bigs we can have that flexibility. Still thinking our rotation is going to be 10 guys per game. Some more mins then others, of course, but them fresh bodies tend to have better chance in end of game situation. Condition , condition, condition.:chief:

LOL I been trying to say this for a good while, Just because he used 1 big and 4 guards at SFA and OsU, was more out of that's what he had to use, then its what he would like to have to use

Thank Weber and Groce for getting public perception to this place. Trust Underwood to rectify it.
Read the description on Iowa State. "and boosters willing to write a check to enhance the squad." Sounds like cheating to me.

Myron needed some clicks and some comments on this piece to show his bosses. He knew Illini fans wouldn't let it slide.

He's just looking for some controversy.

Since ESPN fired pretty much its entire CBB reporting staff, we shouldn't really be surprised that they're produring garbage articles now.

Hard to put "Best college job in the state" and "first NCAA berth" in the same section.

Lol, thanks for proving, once again, that ESPN is where actual sports journalism goes to die.

Journalism is a dying profession. It's all about clicks, tweets, and ratings.

While I definitely think Illinois is the better job hands down, I think there is an argument to be made for Northwestern insofar as Collins, if he keeps this up, will be a legend for however long he stays in Evanston (after he bolts for Duke... maybe a different story.) Us Illini fans have developed a habit of placing basically all of the blame for the program's lack of success on our coaches, fair or not. But that sword definitely cuts both ways because the fan support you'll see at Illinois once the program gets turned around will dwarf anything Northwestern could ever dream of.
