What is the best time slot for a Saturday game? What is our best hope for maximum coverage/exposure?

I would think that if both new coaching staffs come into this game undefeated, or 1 loss, then the high profile recruiting stories each has to offer, specially with Tilmon switching sides, that the powers that be will be motivated to put this game on at a time so as to give it maximum exposure.

DP: What’s the biggest difference in this building from this summer to last summer?

KN: I think guys are more loose...

Hmmm, I wonder why everyone was so uptight last summer?! From that aspect alone I am expecting a better season.

My guess would be the seniors felt a ton of pressure to finally make the tournament

Certain Wins: Southern, Tennessee Martin, Marshall, Augustana (probably doesn't count towards our win total as far as the committee is concerned), North Carolina Central, Austin Peay, Longwood, Grand Canyon

Should Wins: Depaul, New Mexico St., UNLV

Toss up: Wake Forest, Mizzou

If we can get to 11 wins (excluding Augustana) I dont see any reason we can't take 9 B1G games. It's gonna be a hard year given we dont really play any exciting teams non-con wise. Might need closer to 22+ wins to get a shot at the tourney. If we can win all the ones we should, two probablys, and one between WF and Mizzou, I think we can say that was a successful non conference season.

Good read. Q&A between Piper and KN.

Excited to see what he can do this year. Have the feeling he could be really impressive

"KN: According to Coach (Underwood), we’re one of the best groups he’s had since he’s been coaching."

BU is not one to fluff with false compliments or unearned positivity. This is promising. I also know kipper is playing mostly outside, but if he gets matched up with a smaller guard, or a slower big, I'd love to see what he can do in the high post too.

And to think that a lot of people on here had DJW playing before KN. :hand:

Not sure GCU is a certain win. They've been pretty solid the past few years as they worked up to D1 basketball. They've been very competitive in the WAC and I think this is the first year they could be eligible for a ticket to the NCAA tourney. They've been building to this for several years with Jerry Colangelo pulling the strings and Dan Majerle coaching. Should be a good test for us.

I'm pretty surprised there isn't more hype around Kipper. I remember last year around this time there was hype around his defense & versatility, and he very much lived up to that... Even some of the talking heads like Dakitch said Kipper is going to be an elite defender in the BIG10.

I think we're going to be sneaky good.

TJL was already good, and I think we're going to see him even better this season. I expect a quantum leap from Black and also big leaps from Finke and Kipper. That is one formidable core.

Last year Kipper was still vastly unknown and was apart of the "Freshman Hype Monster." Now we have new froshies to hype up and Kipper drifts to the back burner.

It will be very fun watching Kipper the next 3, hopefully full, seasons. He surely is a Swiss Army knife type of a basketball player.

Anyone familiar with the "Why does corn in Illinois lean to the east" joke?

My personal favorite to bring up to my friends that are either Hoosiers or Hawkeyes...

I was definitely excited about DJW's potential in this offense. Was legitimately sad he left. But Kipper, man, I'm excited to see him play. One of our best all around guys already. And now in an offense to really showcase and create mismatches.

I will admit, I'm so excited about this year I've watched all the osu full games from last year I can get my hands on. Just envisioning our guys in certain spots. If kipper became our Jeff Carroll I'd lose it, in a good way.

Excuse my preseason cliche post, but we could absolutely be 6-0 heading into a trip to Wake Forest and possibly 11-0 heading into what is sure to be an intense Braggin' Rights Game. 13-0 non-conference is not out of the realm of possibility at all.

I don't expect it by any means (this season all but guarantees some hiccups), but DAMN am I pumped for the season!

It's not cliché if it used to be our normal, having a ranking or at least votes going into Braggin' Rights. It should be our new normal.
