look's like we have another game.

Dang, these guys stole my scoop. Hosting our own tournament is lame and I really hope we don't do it again after Maui. Underwood has the same concerns about the schedule that Groce did when he got here.

Melvin Nunn (paraphrased): "Head Coach John Groce was soft... sometimes kids need a Huggins-style chewing out."

Well, we've got what Melvin prescribes for us now. =P

Yup, you've got to like a disciple of Huggy, Frank Martin and Jack Hartman. Should make for interesting years ahead.:)

I'm actually okay with it. We have a new coach, new expectations on offense and defense, and a lot of new players. Everyone should learn a lot from these early games. Hope to see tons of improvement early on.

Hearing from my guy (former bball manager) that TeJon Black and Kipper have made biggest strides physically and shooting/ball handling. Also that Jordan is shooting hundreds of shots a day and is hungry to play. And that Trent has gained 5-10 pounds already

The B10 had better watch out if we get a Leron Black who can handle the ball fluently.

Yep, having a coach like BU who emphasizes ball handling is great. Thought Leron would have better handles as a freshman after watching his high school highlights. Leron Tejon and Kipper are going to be the leaders of this team.

Good for all these guys, especially Jordan. Would really like to see him fit in and do well this year. Miss hearing from his Dad on here occasionally.

From the article about the Prime Time League: "They require all DI players start summer school in June. Why not give them a taste of basketball?"
Question: who is " THEY " ??? And: Who gave "THEY" the authority to require any D1 players to do anything ???

Don't know squat about the PTL. That said, their league, their rules?

I am surprised the NCAA allows a summer league. Knowing how much is put on time spent in the gym with a coach this seems to me, and I could be wrong just ask my wife, that the NCAA would not let this fly. However, it is happening for a couple of states. Who would be coaching an incoming freshman or current player is another question? Would said coach teach the same way as BU? If legal in the eyes of the NCAA, I am all for it.

I guess it's just me but I'm guessing Smith has not been impressive in the summer workouts to the former managers.....

not many mentions of him from the staff/media...we'll wait and see, but still have high hopes for him he's too good.

He's been good. Some of the others are more surprising. Smith is a player. He will start from day one.

Not hearing much from Smith might be a great thing. If TJL/Frazier/Leron/Kip/Jordan/Finke's improvements and good showings in practice overshadow our Mr. Basketball star who we all know is very talented, that goes to show how hard our guys are working. There shouldn't be any worries.
