Agreed. In addition, our/Groce's strategy of shoot on offense and automatically send all 5 guys to the defensive end of the floor would give this years team easy defensive rebounds with a lower risk of fouling.

At this point in the season, I would absolutely love to see this team in the NIT. Seeing as how we have learned what BU's regular season side line behavior is like, we need to learn what his post season demeanor is like, just to prepare for next season.

At this point, I dont know if 5 more wins gets us into the NIT...
I think it would depend upon who some of the other teams being invited to the NIT were.....if they need a team (whose record was somewhat close to qualifying) that would draw some interest and attendance (Illini usually have a loyal following) then Illinois might...and I say might....get a second look from the NIT.....do I expect this to happen.....NO.....but sure would be nice to see this team get some post season experience ...help build some confidence and who knows...might even help some recruits make up their minds
That would include wins @MSU tonight and v Purdue Thursday. Those are wins most NIT teams don't have.
