Not a great look for Michigan and I am so hilariously excited to hear any official explanation from UM or the Big Ten. If they don't make up the Illinois/Michigan game, there will be a LOT of explaining to do. After the whole OSU football debacle, you would think the Big Ten would be more careful about its image with favoritism/protecting its postseason money prospects and lay down the law to make sure Illinois/Michigan happens.

FTR, I don't care if we play Michigan on Thursday or in March, so if it's rescheduled ... whatever. Still total dodging move on their part, but at least we get a shot at that paper tiger, and my money is on the Illini being a tougher and tougher team to play as each week goes by this year.
What if Mich and Illinois end the regular season with the same number of losses...but one team has one more win than the other (due to not being able to make up all games thus the difference in total games played)....assuming Ill and Mich do not get to make up their game under this senerio who gets the conference reg season title???.....winning %???.....can't believe the conference would allow this type of senerio to take place....thinking they'll make ever effort possible to play this game to avoid that type of situation from possibly happening...to make it even more of a cluster....throw tOSU in the senerio with same number of losses as Ill and Mich....B1G gotta be running all these possibilities through their heads and praying for no more cancellations in the coming weeks

JWill was an assassin from the 3 point line, even as a freshman. (38%; over 90 attempts)
Andre is 3 for 18. He has a lot of work to do to get there.
Those were different days defensively too. You could grab and hold, be physical... Now all nba players can do is try to cut off passing and driving driving lanes. It’s really hard to do if you aren’t well over 6 feet tall.
I’d love to eat my words, but lottery pick seems a bit much.
Different contexts for sure. But it's not like WC was playing against top flight competition his freshman year either (and per my comment above, he was shooting from 2+ feet closer). If Belo doesn't make a big sophomore jump, I would be surprised but maybe this ends being his ceiling. Who knows.

Actually it was 35% on 28-79...Sports Reference. He also started 30 games and was a much bigger part of the offense. Curbelo is avg. more ppg and assists off the bench.

This is all on me...I started it! I'll eat my crow if he's a late first rounder...but if he puts on 20+lbs and improves his 3pt shot...spolier alert...he will...(his 2pt fg % is also better than DWill as a freshman)....all it will take is a franchise looking for a franchise type PG..which I think he will be.

has anyone seen any official word from the conference? So far all I’ve seen is statements from Michigan’s athletic department. I’m curious what the conferences position is here or if they have even taken one. Unless the B10/NCAA has a rule in place allowing teams to skip games without any positive tests, this should be a forfeit.
Why don't we make it fair. Make IL sit at home for two or three weeks with no access to any facilities. Then come out and play MI with only three days of practice while MI has been playing for the last month.

My only response to that is that Michigan State did essentially the exact same thing. Their first practice back was the Monday before the Rutgers game (they only had 10 of their 15 players available for that practice). They had only done individual and small group workouts during the stoppage. Michigan has been videoing individual workouts and going over film and such.

If your argument is that Michigan State should not have played Rutgers, then that's fair, but it should be a uniform policy across the conference. Maybe that's just Big Ten incompetence, I don't know.

I'll say it again, Curbelo will be the next Illini to notch a triple-double. In fact, I think he may have 2 or 3 before it is all said and done. That bodes well for him, as does the quality of the team around him.

He's just got to add the lb's and let the game slow down for him a bit, and it's on.

This Covid thing needs to end because you all have WAY too much time on your hands.

As far as Curbelo, obviously you wanna be drafted as high as you can, but if he really develops his jumper, I think he’s a lock for a long career.

IMO the biggest thing that works in his favor is the nba help side rules. You can sit on the midline like you can in college. You have to either overcommit to help by coming all the way across the lane, or you have to under commit by staying on the weak side block. For a guy who already has ridiculous vision, it makes the reads much easier. So as long as his 3 ball has to be respected, I think his penetrate and pass game is gonna be worth 30+ points to some team on a nightly basis.

I thought I read somewhere the BIG policy was that teams can take a week to get back before a game. MSU and PSU chose to come back when they did. I can't find a source now to confirm this though.

For those who might be traveling and want to plan for the NU game on Tuesday 2/16 like me, my money is it will be at either 6:00 pm or (most likely) 7:00 pm CST. I am basing that on these openings for TV schedules listed online:

6:00 pm on ESPN: "Big Ten Conference Basketball as part of Super Tuesday"
7:00 pm on BTN: "B1G Men's Basketball"

FS1 is full. The only two games I see listed for that day are #6 Illinois at Northwestern and Michigan State at #24 Purdue. While equally "average" draws in their own rights, Purdue's website lists their game as on "ESPN or ESPN2," so unless there is a switcheroo I would plan on this for the Illini game:

Northwestern at #6 Illinois
Tuesday 2/16
7:00 pm on BTN

:)

While you're at it, could you figure out where Hoffa's buried too? A+ investigatory work.

I have not looked at the entire B1G, but at this point Nebraska is scheduled to play 14 games, Michigan 15 games, MSU 18 games, PSU 18 games and Illinois 19 games. Nebraska was "on pause" for a very long time, the other three were not. As of right now, it looks like to my uneducated eye that everyone but Michigan is making a good faith effort to play as many games as possible.

I really wish our fan base would stop mentioning Michigan basketball on Twitter. It’s over. They likely ducked us. Move on. Same with continuing to antagonize Iowa fans after beating Rutgers. We beat them. Move on.

The epitome of a “act like you’ve been there before.” I know it’s been awhile for us, but boy is it embarrassing.

(now if Michigan wins the B1G as a result, they should never hear the end of it. But as of now, we look nuts).
