Do we really think this is anyone other than a thirsty fan?
I'll help, Mr Podz are you his father, or close to the source? Welcome, whether or not....as long as you're an Illini fan. Asking for a friend.

Let's not forget Adam Miller's mom.

I don't know how she was around the program...but I met her and Adam and they were nothing but nice.
I’m getting tired of the Adam Miller bashing. Just let it go already. By all accounts, he was a model student athlete. NCAA programs started circling this kid like hungry sharks at an early age. He wanted to stay home in Illinois, but the fit wasn’t right. I know we all love the Illini program, but the program’s focus is on the team, not Adam Miller. Adam’s mom was an advocate for Adam. There is no shame in that.

I really enjoyed this article about Chester. How can you not love this guy?

To all those still question why we called him "Chet" :
As Frazier’s path led him past Illini Towers — and the fence he used to jump to take a shortcut from Irwin — a fan walked past him with a simple message, “Hey coach, go Illini!” It’s worth wondering how many times he heard that on the same route, replacing “Coach” with “Chester” or “Chet” during his playing days. This particular path took Frazier to Daniel Street.

I had the same freshman to senior timeframe. I went back this summer and for the first time in a while. I feel all of what Chester feels when he talks about the changes.

There's nothing in this article that suggests he likes being called Chet. So how about we call him what he likes.

Graduated his freshman year and was back for the first time in a long time in ‘18 and yep same feeling. Green street was borderline unrecognizable after 12 years

Do you personally know what he prefers? If so what is it? I see nothing in the article that says he doesn’t like being called Chet either.

I am curious how our extra year super seniors will effect not only this year but next. l feel at least one freshmen that may not be expected to will break through and get tick that we currently dont think will . A freshman has done so every year under BU. I doubt all will given our depth if we stay healthy. I hope they can get an opportunity for some play early enough they will be around next year and going forward. They all have length, skill, and shooting as wings that BU has been wanting. It will be fun to watch. The players we saw play last year I have a good idea what to expect. The injured ones and newbies I can't wait to see how they impact this year and next.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's because we have never heard anyone in any interviews or coach Underwood or any other assistant for that matter call him Chet.
Thats fine. I have never referred to him as Chet, but some seem to be really offended by it. I just wondered if there is any actual evidence of that he doesn’t like it or if it’s just something to argue about.

They'll get plenty of tick in blowouts is my hope at least. If we are as good as advertised there should be plenty of those in NonCon and B1G play as well. If they show something big in those games then they'll earn their time in the tighter games.

There's also nothing in the article that suggests what he "likes being called".

I vividly remember him being called "Chet" many times in interviews during his playing days. He clearly hasn't stated anywhere that anyone has seen that he doesn't like it.
So maybe it's not a big deal.

Its a really good story. I’m a sucker for the old school mindset of returning home to serve rather than chasing greener pastures/warmer weather/whatever. I wish Chester a very successful return to Illinois.

Based off the schedule, I would think the freshman who earn it can get significant tick in the 2 exhibitions, Jackson st, Arkansas st, UTRGV, St. Francis and Florida A&M in the non con.

I know we’re better than a lot of teams in the big, but I don’t know who is really so bad that it’s “play your developmental guys significant minutes against them” bad. I think we’ll be running a fairly deep rotation regularly anyway, so I can’t see us putting in deep bench guys until the under 8 in the second half, if even that early.

Yes but this is a very tough non conference schedule too. I know our super Seniors are very experienced and talented. Those two traits combined certainly give them an edge this season. That being said I feel BU is recruiting long athletic players that fit his system that seem to eventually have higher ceilings. I wouldn't just write them off to not challenge more experienced players the back half of the season if BU can find some time early in the year it could pay off. AC struggled at times early on but man he came on fast because he was able to play early on. I wouldn't be shocked if someone stepped forward to some degree amoung these 3 freshmen if given an opportunity to gain some experience to go along with thier length, and athleticism.
