We won the B1G and had 3 All-Americans last year.

"Illinois is in the running because they return two All-Americans in Andre Curbelo and Kofi Cockburn, despite the departure for Ayo Dosunmu. The Fighting Illini are the defending Big Ten Champions and expect to compete for another conference title and make a deeper run in the NCAA Tournament, rather than falling in the second round."

I mean, they’re not wrong. Illinois won the most conference games and played their whole schedule. Sounds like a winner to me.

The big things that stand out from all these interviews is all the talk of culture and pace. It's pretty obvious at this point that the expectation is you are going to grind your tail off every day and the players we have are embracing that 100%.

I love the way Chester got excited talking about the pace they will play and the tempo of practices, also him and Anderson both mentioned attention to detail from BU. These are guys that have coached at other D1 schools and you can see how impressed they are with BU.

Also I got a little excited the way Trent talked about Plummer. This dude is a bona-fide lock down defender and you can see how genuine he is calling Plummer a problem. I was especially impressed when he said he had no idea when Plummer was going to shoot considering how he does his homework on everyone he plays against.

Seems to be a great culture that has been instilled in this team. The coaches have done an excellent job in that regard.

I truly believe that Plummer will be a nice upgrade to last years Miller. Can't wait to see him splashing 3's on opponents. He seemed to get huge praise from his teammates.

Omar is going to be huge for this team off the bench. Will be counted on to hold the fort while Kofi is taking a spell. Athletic rim runner who from all accounts is very valuable on defense.

Trent sounded like the clear unquestioned leader to me. He was mentioned by most/if not all of the players in this regard.

Hutch still seems to be a mystery. I'm excited to see what he can do, along with the freshman. Anything they can provide is a massive boon to this years outcome.

Hawkins is true that he is a truly unique player. Very mobile at 6'10 is not commonplace in the BIG.

Curbelo is my favorite player on this team. Besides his obvious outstanding play, he seems to be a true leader and student of the game. I loved how he talked about how much that last game bothered him. How he has been studying game tape to improve. He seems to be a true "team player" which is great to have in your uber skilled playmaking PG. My favorite Illini since Dee, and he's only a soph.

I'm so pumped about this upcoming season. It seems the team has incredible depth and shooters galore. It's going to so fun to watch Curbelo dice up the defense and kick it out to the improved shooting. Oh yeah... there's also that Kofi guy in the middle.

I'm guessing this might be the last season to enjoy Curbelo, but who knows.......Hope it's not.........I haven't watched any of the videos above as i have been busy but will later today...

Can't wait to see Coleman Hawkins on the court this season....sounds like he's going to be an under the radar type player with AC, kofi, and Trent getting a lot of the attention, CH is primed to become a major factor.....I think he expects to be a force....hope he's not (as well as the fans) disappointed....ILL

Does anyone know when the times for the games will be finalized? Some friends and I bought the 4 game pack and we are trying to plan ahead. Can't wait and go Illini!

Watched all the player and coach videos and am super pumped.
I am quite impressed with how well spoken many of our players are.
I believe there is a perception that many of these kids are “ballers” and just here for the basketball, which may be partially true, but they all spoke about culture, team, hard work, etc.
I love what BU has created
Some of the kids that I haven’t heard much from were impressive: Hutch, BV, Goode all were very well spoken and humble.
My expectation is this will be a season we all remember for a very longtime.

Okay, I get that Mizzou isn’t supposed to be that good this year, but we will be a preseason top 15 team and Braggin’ Rights is still one of the coolest atmospheres in college basketball … let alone that time of the year.

Given that fans couldn’t experience the “real thing” last year, Illinois’ resurgence and (what I’d estimate is) Mizzou’s relatively large fan base, I’d guess it’d be a good ratings pull. We played in some of the most viewed games of the year last year (including the top 2!), with us being the common denominator; OSU, Iowa and Loyola were not each supplying the majority of viewers in all three games that got crazy good ratings, lol. COME ON, ESPN!
