Anyone else planning on heading to Kansas City for the Thanksgiving invitational? I'm thinking of making the 6 hour drive down there for the Cincinnati game. Hoping Kofi will be available to play.
Yep. I been hoping at least one of the suspension games, if they happen, is a national TV game to really expose this situation for the travesty it is.Donate the entire amount to a high profile charity...then make a very public scene of the NCAA suspending Kofi for supporting said charity.
The two games everybody wanted to go to the most.
The two games I wanted to go to the most
8 games would put us all the way through the first Big Ten game against Rutgers. His first game back would be Iowa on Dec. 6. Which, great he'd be back but he'd have just missed a month of competitive basketball with the rest of the team. That would be such an absurdly excessive response by the NCAA, so it is 100% what they're going to do.
I like that you posted this GIF. While I usually cannot handle his level of hyperbole, I think Stephen A's emotional connection with basketball and sensitivity to absurdity would be a good reason for him to interview whatever lackey the NCAA could put forward to grill about this. His co-hosts can barely get a word in edgewise, let alone someone trying to justify this nonsense. It would be must-see TV.4 to 8???

On the other hand, the tournament is what most everyone looks at to gauge conference strength. So, even if your right, it's kind of irrelevant. Regarding "though the better the group, the less likely they are to flop": that's my point exactly. The Big Ten has won the national championship once in the last 30 years.I'm a pretty firm believer that the tournament tells you fairly little about conference strength throughout a season. One bad game, regardless of the opponent, and you're done. It's fairly easy for a conference to flop or succeed based purely on chance (though the better the group, the less likely they are to flop).
That's likely what's happening, and I kinda think that's what DIA is doing. Illini friendly media and beat writers are starting to tweet about it, so it seems like the stuff out there seems to be getting out there from our end. Just speculation on my part though. So is the NCAA sitting on this and waiting to announce tomorrow afternoon ala taking out the trash?
If so, someone within the DIA should leak specifics to someone with a blue check mark so this is the lead story on sport center and every other national sports show.. If NCAA wants to go down this path they have to own it and take the applicable PR hit.

As long as we get to pick which one. I vote 4.4 to 8???

Let's hope that ESPN's story right before the Kofi announcement has to do with Mark Few.5:00 Friday news dump coming in approximately 24 Hrs. 15 Mins.
Of course talking about without Kofi. Cinn,Marq,Ark,ND, and Rutgers...it's possible. It all seems Very Punitive to me... could see 2 games. If we go 4-4 with that schedule we've been exposed.
It does seem punitive esp 4 to 8 games. I don't know all the details but if he and other ncaa athletes can do what he did back then in some form or fashion why would they need to punish him so severely. There's no need to deter future violators given NIL so it's not like the ncaa needs to punish a big name to deter future misconduct. I'd see more justification for a lengthier suspension to deter head coaches engaging in DUIs as they are the standard bearers for their school and program.Of course talking about without Kofi. Cinn,Marq,Ark,ND, and Rutgers...it's possible. It all seems Very Punitive to me... could see 2 games.
Definitely too punitive, even at 2 games. But honestly if we can't win at least 2 of those 5, how can we say we're better than last year's team? Kenpom has Rutgers at 67, Marquette at 87, and Cincinnati at 117.Of course talking about without Kofi. Cinn,Marq,Ark,ND, and Rutgers...it's possible. It all seems Very Punitive to me... could see 2 games.
To be a bit closer to accurate, neither the NCAA nor the IHSA are educational institutions. They are associations with members who are University Presidents or School Principals. Anyone who believes their mission has anything to do with education is being misled. They are about money.NCAA just another in a long line of corrupt education institutions.... THe IHSA says bravo
