Never understood the level of hand-wringing about his knee. He's been playing on it for months now and the tear happened over a year ago. A year and a half removed from an ACL tear in this day and age is more than enough time needed to get back to 100%.
Yes. But there are lots of players who have not returned to their previous level be it physical or mental. If understood that you would understand people's concern.

Me thinks people will be doubting his explosiveness until they actually see new footage of him playing above the rim like he did pre-injury. Our perpetually paranoid and snake-bitten fan base is gonna chicken little the sh*t out of this until he teabags an opposing player in a game... And heaven forbid it's in a pick up game or during practice. It will become the new Rennie/Shaq joke.

I would welcome another veyeran in the backcourt. Both Coleman and Dain have vast potential but unproven/inconsistent to this point.

As we saw this year, injuries and foul troubles happen. Plenty of minutes to rotate CH, DD and a Vet player at the 4 and 5. Still minutes to ho smaller at the 4 if need be.

Eh, I don't think it's crazy that we're not ranked at this point. Look at our lineup from an outsider's perspective

1. Skyy - talented freshman, but coming off knee surgery
2. TSJ - known commodity, probably considered our best player at this point
3. RJ - played in 22 games averaging 9 mins
4. Hawkins - averaged 6 points in 19 mins
5. DD - 6 career points
Goode - 56 career points
Epps - #82 rsci currently
Ty - #54 rsci currently
Harris - #95 rsci currently

If you listen to the eye on college basketball podcast Gary Parrish actually takes it pretty seriously, but he can't know each team the way fans like us do. I'm really excited about this group, especially once all the portal stuff finalizes, but that comes from watching every minute of Coleman, Goode and RJ plus highlights of the freshmen. The team will get every chance to prove they belong and writers will acknowledge it when they do.
Mostly agree, but the 20-26 teams are pretty suspect IMO. We will be young, but have the best recruiting class in the last 20 years (#8 nationally) coming in along with TSJ. Would think we belong in that group at a minimum; will be disappointed if we finish out of the top 5 in conference. You are correct, the team will have plenty of chances to prove they belong - especially early in the Vegas tourney. Looking forward to it!

While many try to turn Goode into a wing, I believe his future on this team will be as a stretch 4. He is bigger and stronger than the credit he is given, will be tougher for 4s to guard when he goes out to the 3 point line, and BU can easily see there is a greater need for him to contribute up front.

He can probably play some 4 minutes and he seems to rebound well. The main question is how well he defends the PF of the other team.

I'm skeptical...Skyy did not make one good pass in this video!
The only complaint I have with Skyy is he seems like a below-the-ring player, even compared to Ayo, which might hurt his stock when it comes to NBA. I am not too worried about that for college basketball though.

That's fair, though honestly I don't know those teams well enough to argue either way. Heck, I can barely keep up with the comings and goings of my favorite team, let alone the whole country.

A lot of his minutes this year came at the 4, at least from what I can recall. He was playing that spot for much of the Houston game, for instance, and that's while giving up a lot physically. I agree that he'll be best as an interchangeable 4/3 moving forward, particularly as he bulks up a bit. Kind of like a shorter Joey Hauser.

Yeh. Good point.

This young man's development is light years ahead of Ayo at this point!!! Who have we ever had with this young man's overall ability to get to anywhere on the court that he wants to??? His game is mature beyond his years. I for one believe that we do not need a veteran point guard with the dawgs that we have coming

Mine is that our rebounding numbers are going to drop like a rock. He never misses.
