The young man is putting in time and working on his craft trying to get better, only to have people still taking shot at him.
I didn't take that as a shot. I believe there have been a few of us honestly backing Brandon. I don't expect him to be all conference, but it would be great to see him earn a few minutes a game, especially against teams with taller centers.

Question off the current discussion but still related to the thread name - Does anyone have any insight on why it takes so long for the athletic site to get pictures of the new players? As of now all of the new players, both recruits and transfers have no pictures included in the roster. I would think that would be a 1 or 2 day process. I've noticed this in the past as well. Just curious.

I don’t think they want to throw up school ID photos. I’d guess the individual photos are taken the same day as the team photo. Considering Mayer just arrived on campus, plus is Perrin there yet, wouldn’t have happened yet. Annually, they may wait until after first day of class for photo shoot because isn’t that when things become official?

Good listen....not much mention of Danji and Goode....feeling like these two will need to have good seasons for the beloved to have the success we all hope to have
Fully agree on Dain. If we want to be a top 15 team, he’ll have to be at absolute bare minimum serviceable for 20 mins a game.

I think goode’s role on this team is orders of magnitude less important. He’s got at least 3 or 4 guys who can contribute similarly and have either already proven that in college or are a high ranked hs recruit coming in. I’m not trying to downplay his skills or even if he’ll be a great player or not for us, just pointing out the fact that Dainja only has Coleman and Perrin ( and I guess Lieb) to cover him if he flops hard, none of those guys strike me as a 30+ min 5 man next year. Goode has a number of wings that’ll get the job done should he not progress.

Goode feels like the next DMW to me and I think we’ve seen reports of him being an instant leader (I remember a couple times last season he seemed to pull guys into the huddle). He’s absolutely a valuable piece to this team, but not a required on court star to make this team elite.

Makes sense...he was a hs qb...

Seems like Ty and Luke are natural leaders but would think the alpha dog would be a starter. Maybe they are just the ones to say “sic em”. Or maybe that is the talent that makes them starters.
See Lieb as a better fit for last years offense as opposed to a 5 that spreads the floor. However a big body with 5 fouls is certainly an asset on defense.

You guys really don't know a damn thing about BL!!! Unless I got my wires crossed on this one I think you better go back and look at some videos on BL

Goode feels like the next J Grand to me. Good shooter who plays smart.

Yes, but people who do know and have insider status for a reason have said that if Lieb is getting serious minutes then we are in trouble as a team.
No amount of "insider information " including direct from coaches can tell you how young players are developing, how they respond to an increased role, how they respond to a new environment etc. Practice reports are notorious for not being able to actually predict what happens on game day.

Depth defensively in the post is a concern for this team. Time will tell if Lieb can give us some help.

I'm sorry, but did just say that information directly from the coaches doesn't tell how a player is developing...

Not to mention, Lieb isn't young, he has been here for 3 years. The coaches know exactly what they're getting from him, and it isn't quality minutes.

my point is how they are developing in game environments.

We'll all have some surprises this season is my bet.
