I don't think I've ever been so excited for an Illini basketball season, and I've seen a great many! However, not everyone agrees that it's going to be a great season for us. This article is a bit strange as he is saying we'll start off strong then fade, while also saying it's going to take some time for them to learn to play together.

He went to Indiana.
Also: Clickbait.

Want to get some traffic to the site? Tell Illinois fans their basketball team is overrated.

Ok, yeah...that is a strange take. It'll take awhile to blend and compete in the Big Ten, yet we'll be in the Top 25 for a couple of months and it'll all be downhill from there??

I mean, he did go to Indiana (Indinia), so...

I don't know how you can disagree when his argument is so clear : "The incoming roster for the upcoming season has some talent, but is clearly overrated."

Lazy analysis. It can be summed up in one sentence: "The more star power you lose from last season, the more overrated you are as a function of current ranking/expectation." Click bait.

I'm shocked that Indinia isn't includes among the five most over-rated teams! SHOCKED!

It seems that the consensus is that the Illini will start slow, and take time to gel. I'm hoping and thinking that this Illini team might be different than many, and will come out of the gate like gangbusters, and improve even more as the season continues. Some times a team just clicks from the get-go, and this might be that team.
