I don't think I've ever been so excited for an Illini basketball season, and I've seen a great many! However, not everyone agrees that it's going to be a great season for us. This article is a bit strange as he is saying we'll start off strong then fade, while also saying it's going to take some time for them to learn to play together.

"The incoming roster for the upcoming season has some talent, but is clearly overrated."

Proceeds not to state why this team is overated... lol

That whole article is a head-scratcher. I thought this was particularly strange: :Though the Tigers are returning three of their top five scorers for 2021-22, the talent needed to make a run in the NCAA Tournament and be competitive in the SEC requires a bit more than just good basketball players."

I know it's Satan's team, but he's shown he can coach, and has incoming 4 and 5 star players to join the three mentioned.

My guess is the 2022-23 Illini will be in contention for the BIG championship, with a high floor, but maybe not as high a ceiling as Ayo's last team. We'll have some really fun players to watch.

Great read and seems like an even greater person!

I'll be honest, I was worried when it took Bill forever to fill the role and to get Tim on campus, but the old adage "good things come to those that wait" is so true for this one. I hope we do have him until he does become a head coach. But by this point, BU has more than proven that despite what may look like chaos on the outside (i.e. assistants leaving, recruits not having committed, etc) he keeps a tight pulse and makes moves that lead us in an equal if not better position! I'm just starting to let go of the "kick in the nuts" expectations and looking more towards the future as, "change happens and I'm excited for what will transpire"!
