I don't hear Dainja discussed at all. Thought he could be a key to the season. Is the thought he will be a 5 pts, 5 rebounds a game guy or closer to a 10 pts, 7-8 rebounds a game guy?
I claimed long ago, and still believe, that Dainja will likely be either be a starter, or the first person off the bench due to our big situation. Whether or not Dainja starts likely depends on the rotation the coach wants to play. Either way I expect 15-20m/game from him. The above ranges seem reasonable.

Just a reminder, Torvik has Dain as the 10th man and a projected 1.5 PPG
Has to be more than that based on our not so deep front court depth. I am thinking more like 5 PPG.

Questioning what that is based on.....we don't have anything to base that on.....seems closer to Lieb last year.....hoping for more than that....wow!

I have him as 6th man for minutes played. Maybe the 2nd guy off the bench depending on the game but will get a lot of minutes. Can’t play a B1G schedule without playing him a ton IMO.

That is where I basically am — 5 and 5 with a plus/minus of 1 with both stats. Hard to tell give we haven’t seen him play and. more importantly, we don’t know exactly how the new offensive and defensive systems look. I actually think him scoring at the high point of one poster’s predictive range — 12 ppg I think it was — might not be a good thing. I think that could very well mean CoHawk gets injured or is really ineffective.

Not even try to compare the effectiveness of CH and Dain on the offensive end, but they have to somewhat guard different types of players at the defensive end, CH for the agile big and Dain for the bulky bigs. That by itself should give Dain at least 10-15 min per game unless his defense is really weak.

Very much guessing, but I don't expect a lot of points --less than 5 and 5 in 15+ minutes is my wild as5 guess. We'll have a ton of scoring options, so he won't be asked to do too much as a post player. Defensively, though, he will be *very* important to the team.

Really excited to watch this season --this will be a different team, versatile, good overall size, and I'm thinking more inside out movement (I mean, how could you not after a beast like Kofi?). Should be in every game, even with the difficult schedule.

Also, did anyone catch what Jim Bohiem said about the Bigten during the Acc media day? Something to the effect that the BIG sent 9 teams to the tournament and the ACC sent 5, yet the ACC sent 3 to the elite 8 and the BIG sent none. He mentions that the BIG isn't very good because they can't compete in the tournament. He's not off base but I just think its interesting that the beloved will be the ones to shut him up this year!

Torvik must be smoking Crack if he thinks that Dain is the tenth man off the bench!! If Dain is not starting he will be the first or second man off the bench

CleaverName

Chicago but not there anymore
Am I the only one whose brain immediately goes to Mystikal's "Danger" every time you see Dain's name in print?

DAINJA!
You are not the only one although I am a bigger fan of his other work...
