You left out U of Chicago... Including them might knock Northwestern down another notch.

More important for football, but nonetheless. (I remember back in day, when the conference still had ten teams, that Northwestern ranked 11th. Joy.)

Where does MN find their nonconference opponents? They only have 10 losses in 4 years - that's less than Illinois, same as PU.

So Purdue has to lose to Indiana or Maryland and we have to beat Indiana and Michigan (I figured the other games are W's) to play for the Championship the final game.
Indiana has a good shot at winning the title too.

Not sure if this is the right place for this. Latest NBA draft big board. Only TSJ even appearing on the list.. in the undrafted projection.

I personally don't see how Mayer doesn't at least get a look. His length and athleticism plus shooting seems like he could be a 3 and D guy off the bench but I guess he's still battling perception after a slow start

Mayer will have the best NBA career of the three guys we have that will go IMO.

Kris Murray at 50?!? I would have guessed him to be a first rounder for sure.

Was rewatching highlights of the Rutgers game and noticed we had only given up 53 points with something like 90 seconds left, which means Rutgers snuck in 7 quick points when the game was in hand. And it occurred to me that several of our recent wins have ended this way, notably Wisconsin and OSU.

I don’t really care about final scores that much, but it does make me think we’ve been more impressive in our last 10 games than even the final scores would indicate.

Will face a desperate team tonight. Two things I would like to see in our final 7 games is a cut down on silly turnovers and other mental lapses such as those that probably cost us the Iowa game, as well as even just a little bit of positive reversion on our 3 pt%.

We correct our correctable mistakes and make a few more 3’s and we will be a load in the tourney.

I hope we have better late game inbound plays going forward.

I am in Indianapolis and wondering if anyone knows of some local places where Illini fans gather to watch games. Thanks!

This is a pretty talented team. Not sure where it stacks against previous years, but the talent's been wildly overrated by many. We had a mock draft with RJ in the second round this year. Some thought Skyy was one and done. MM and TSJ are good players, but not likely NBA yet you had fans talking that way. Perhaps CoHawk gets to the league, but until the last couple games, we hadn't seen much improvement from him offensively from last year.

How many guys on this team will make the first three teams all Big Ten?

I think a big part of the discontent that you get on the board is that people thought too much of the talent and believed piecing together all these new parts would be easy. A more realistic outlook going into the season would have us enjoying this season (which is actually pretty good) a bit more.

Still time to get a memorable win or two this season and a memorable run in March.

We habitually overrate our talent. Frequently significantly so.

If TSJ and Hawk are thinking of going to the NBA I hope they are getting some grounded feedback with what are probable outcomes of if they will actually be drafted at all and not biased feedback like it seems many hear and believe. I am hopeful for them that they are but I am very skeptical they will be selected. It seems to me that our last NBA player that was drafted where many on the board or at least was posted here was Meyers. Even Ayo fell after staying a year and that likely worked out for him. Now however with NIL I wonder if Hawk or TSJ could reconsider things before taking that next step. I hope they really think long and hard about the information they get and who it is from. Most importantly its reliable and unbiased and they do what’s best for them. That could have a huge impact on our recruiting. NIL could pay them pretty well and help them move up draft boards if they stayed

I'm sure all fan bases do as much.

The biggest targets to be overrated are freshmen (we have a lot), guys who are getting a big jump in minutes (we have a lot), and transfers (we have a lot).

So this year provided historic opportunities to overrate.

Well someone myself and many others underrated and even the staff may have is Podz. They way he is shooting the ball he has as good or a better chance to play at the next level as anyone we currently have on our roster. It stings because he would’ve really helped a lot! I really hope that Goode can really show some of what he did towards the end of last season and Podz is now in Santa Clara. Goode can do that and I hope he is given much more of an opportunity soon. This teams season is far from done but someone has to start knocking down perimeter shots. Hopefully Goode will help quite a bit and personally I do think he will but he is going to have to have that opportunity before it’s too late. Which it may have been last year when he finallly started playing more. His injury may have hurt our squad more than we realize.

Individual talent does not make a team. Chemistry does. We have a good team that has shown flashes. Unfortunately, we seem to be hitting the wrong teams at the wrong time. Indiana will be psyched this Saturday if N.W. beats them. We still have to play N.W. and Purdue. Hopefully we can beat Minnesota, O. State and Michigan but nothing is guaranteed. At this point, I would be happy with a split and 7 seed. We still have time to round into playing up to the potential that we have flashed against earlier top ten teams.
