Here's hoping! In that clip, they're using what I recall to be the European style ball (FIBA ). Assuming that's in preparation for the overseas trip, then we switch back to the norm?Keep seeing good press on DGL. Might be the surprise answer in back court

Illinois Basketball’s Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn Will Surprise Everyone
Illinois Basketball has had an active offseason in the transfer portal. They have made three significant adds to the roster in their quest to become an older and experienced team.www.yardbarker.com
We are not worried about that anymore. For weeks the debate has been who the best Illini PG of all time was. I don’t expect it to be settled anytime soon.
Harmon is better than what we have been giving him credit for.Seems we are hearing a lot about how DGL is looking but no updates on Hansberry. Any practice reports?
Back row AJ ReddOk. Picture with Fletch. Back row, far right? Front row, two on the right, one the Italian pg, who is the othe?
People shouldn't be surprised. He scored in double figures in 43 of his 58 D1 games. He's a grown man and a good athlete.Harmon is better than what we have been giving him credit for.
Next year will tell us more him because we lost two All Americans(that he recruited) and we still won 20 games last year, when he had to replace 80%+ of everything? Here’s where I’m at. We are the winningest program in the B1G over the last four years. This next year will go a long way in telling us if that’s because:
a: we had Kofi for 3 of those seasons and Ayo for 2
Or
b: Brad Underwood is an “elite coach”
He loves to say winningest B1G over the past 4 years. Was it his coaching/system or the fact that he (Antigua) successfully recruited Kofi?Next year will tell us more him because we lost two All Americans(that he recruited) and we still won 20 games last year, when he had to replace 80%+ of everything?
Last year was a bumpy ride, but it had to be expected with the turnover and with some of the guys that jumped ship. Welcome to the portal era.
I think DGL and I wouldn't be shocked if Harris time decreases with our new guys. I know we don't want to count on a freshman PG but it will likely be DGL or Harmon in the closing minutes with FT shooting being a major question.Insiders.....
Who do you predict will backup Ty at the 1? DGL, Sencire, or Harmon? Combination based on matchups and who is playing well?
I agree I hope DGL shows well enough to get time come November, and I think the key to that happening lies in his ability to keep other guards in front of him on the other end of the court.I think DGL and I wouldn't be shocked if Harris time decreases with our new guys. I hope DGL gets a ton of PT overseas and in pre conference games. I hope he play his tail off and well enough to challenge Ty for starters minutes at PG. That may not be likely but I sure hope he does. I do feel DGL is quick and will be tough to stay in front of and guard. Ty can play about any spot on the floor but he must improve drastically at the line or else how can he play PG in tight games down the stretch?
Harris is not a point guard, but that kid is gonna need minutes if he keeps playing defense the way he did last year. Hopefully he improves on offense a bitI think DGL and I wouldn't be shocked if Harris time decreases with our new guys. I can see Harris as specialist so to speak....we need to turn up the defensive pressure on a team....going full court pressure...or maybe a half court trap type D...Harris is the guy that ratchets up the team intensityHarris is not a point guard, but that kid is gonna need minutes if he keeps playing defense the way he did last year. I never said he was. Nor is Ty a true PG either at least not yet, but we need shooters. That's kind of the point. All I said is Harris is likely to see his time decrease, especially with a non shooting PG like Ty. TJ, Domask, Harmon, Quincy, DGL, a healthy Goode all are much better shooters and likely players than Harris at the 2-4 so if Harris expects his time to go up it will be at PG. I think thats unlikely but it doesn't mean I am not a fan of Harris. I am.Harris is not a point guard, but that kid is gonna need minutes if he keeps playing defense the way he did last year. I know I'm one of the few weird people that likes to watch the NIT and mid major basketball but Harmon is very good.People shouldn't be surprised. He scored in double figures in 43 of his 58 D1 games. He's a grown man and a good athlete.
We alI hope you are right on the new guys, but I think Dainja starts.I know I'm one of the few weird people that likes to watch the NIT and mid major basketball but Harmon is very good.
I didn't see Utah Valley play until the NIT but he looked absolutely phenomenal. He's a bigger Andres Feliz with a better jump shot if anyone wants a somewhat recent comparison. He didn't shoot super well against UAB but played well and was phenomenal against Cincinnati and Colorado. If the current roster stays put I almost expect Harmon to start but he will play major minutes.
Sidenote if Woodbury from Utah Valley can end up getting a waiver he would be a phenomenal add.
Additionally, I've been watching Domask play since he was a freshman and he will make an all big10 team this year. Just a solid all around player that can do everything and is a very good entry passer into the post.
I think Harmon, Shannon, Domask, Rodgers, Coleman should be the starting 5 with Goode and Guerrier as your top two off the bench.
I have nothing against Dainja and he may start but I don't really see him as anything more than a role player to be honest. The lineup is just way more versatile and dynamic without him on the court imo. I feel like Dainja will be very matchup dependent and his minutes will likely take a hit with Guerrier being able to provide floor spacing and Hansberry also pushing for minutes. We alI hope you are right on the new guys, but I think Dainja starts.
Hard capped ceiling due to no point guard. Hopefully we get in the tournament but don’t expect much more.
