Only if they are constantly engaged with the game, and not standing with hands on hips or playing on their phones waiting for the team to do something spectacular. Krush is a shadow of its early 00s predecessors.
Having attended a couple of games last year when Krush was present--it certainly looked like this was a problem. Having said that, I could also see Krush leadership working really hard to rectify this during the games. Maybe its time for some "merit based" seating arrangements--if you're on your phone, move to the crappy seats. We only want the crazies up front.

I went to the Arizona game in 2021-22, and I remember being shocked at how great the Krush was - it truly reminded me of the 2000s glory days! Turns out (IIRC) there was a large "Krush Alumni" presence, and I think it got everyone going. I think that Arizona game is the best homecourt advantage we have had since 2007 or so.

Also, according to the announced games we will have a huge gap in December:

- Saturday 12/9 at Tennessee
- Wednesday 12/20 or Thursday 12/21 vs. Missouri in St. Louis (I am just guessing it will be one of these two dates)

Is that normal? I understand finals week is in there, but that still seems like a massive gap. I recall a rumor we were still looking to announce a "name" opponent for Saturday 12/16, which would be right in the middle of that gap and after finals week. I've asked before, but is there any truth to that rumor still?

Have been asking for this for a while. Glad to see it's finally in the works.

Regarding the Krush not being engaged, I think offering booze at games now has something to do with that, ironically. Making beer runs, holding your beer, drinking your beer, all take away from your ability to be loud and engaged in the game.

And I'm usually good for a few beers myself when I go to games, so not condemning drinking or saying it shouldn't be offered. Just pointing out it might be a distraction.

In B10 and more difficult match ups like FAU, Marquette, Tennessee, and Missouri how deep of a rotation do we expect? I would expect 8 or 9 tops. How will minutes be distributed? I think it will be interesting to see how it breaks down at the 5 and in other roles to allow getting more shooters on the floor, an area we struggled in last season. I expect Hawk and TSJ to play as much as possible at arounf 35 minutes or so in those games. Listing just 8 or 9 guys how do you guys see it playing out in those close games? Unlike in easier games when everyone should play. Thats one reason I'm looking forward to the European trip.

There will be two Big Ten Games in December. The Conference schedule hasn’t been released yet. I’d expect those games will fill this gap.

Glad we're getting the Tennessee game out of the way before Coleman's birthday.

You hit the nail on the head.. The Krush is no where near the Krush Dickie V always went on about. Some are into the games but others are only seeking to drink and get their mug on TV.. At last years Northwestern game i sat directly below the NW fans and let me tell you the regular UI students behind me made more noise than the ones on the floor did. In talking to several sitting directly behind me they said they did not have time to stand in lines for 6 hours to get on the floor. A merit based system should be implemented.
