I think it's relatively safe to say DGL won't be returning next season:
DGL Mom Not Happy

I can't say I necessarily blame him, either. I refuse to believe Underwood can't find spot minutes for DGL, Dainja, and Nico throughout the games to keep our main rotation guys fresh throughout the season. I don't think anyone is expecting them to be as good as our starters, but Undy HAS to find a way to lower the rotation guys' minutes while helping develop the younger players. This team will wear down by the NCAA Tournament no matter what he says.
Yep…then throw in the potential for sickness, injury, foul trouble and other acts of god. It’s a valid concern.

I will say though, I’m glad Nico and Dain got some minutes; which is a whole lot better than nothing.

Entitlement started for this era's players from the start of AAU games and being heaped full of praise from early middle school now.....They hear how great they are at an early age and as they get older the praise get's heavier..............

if a frosh is good enough to get major minutes then I am sure BU will play them.....case in point: Kofi & Ayo.......

DGL seems like he has bought into the Illini way and I think if he stays he will be getting major minutes next year and beyond for the Illini program......Minutes are earned in practice and BU has said numerous times that DGL is hard to stop in practice.........

I'm from the old school adage that you have to pay your dues and earn whatever it is you are seeking........Sometimes that adage is short circuited by what they did in prep school or AAU ball........college is a different beast what with frosh playing against more physical and mature players 3-4 years older and WISER.........

There is no substitute for experience and to gain that experience you have to dedicate your energy to achieve whatever personal goals a recruit and then player has........

Too many feel entitled to not put in the effort (NOT saying that is DGL at all ).....parents sometimes hinder their child with a over the hill expectation for them.......she sounds like a handful , but BU controls all of this and I know he won't give up control of playing time to any player or player's family...................

JMHO..............

Also, they should note Coleman's path and listen to his comments after last night's game (they really really should lol)

Parents + anger + Facebook = trouble

I can see such limited playing time with the short bench being a tougher pill to swallow. With TSJ you can convince yourself where you fit. With TSJ out and add in Moretti getting tick over you in a game after extended absence then that could play a bit with emotions. Just putting myself in his shoes and gotta believe anyone in that situation would have some questions. Of course any behind the scenes discussions could help address that as well. The guy has to be getting feedback why he isn’t seeing the floor.

It's like the Chris Rock routine where he talks about his wife complaining that they need to do something about the fact that their daughter is not getting to play enough on her basketball team and he replies, "You do know that there is actually a way that she could get to play more."

I get it, you want to protect your kids, but damn there is a bigger picture here.

It never ceases to amaze me how senseless and willfully blind these hyper-involved parents can be. If she took just a cursory glance around the landscape of college basketball, she'd see how common it is for freshman to get limited minutes...especially on a good team full of upperclassmen. I feel so bad for players who have to deal with this

Hot take, but our fan base has become relatively bad at colors in recent years (without "Orange Out" games for football while it is still warm being the odd exception), and these are a dangerous goal, lol. For whatever reason, our fans just do not wear orange like we used to ... funny enough, I was at all three of these games! Lol.

And yet when we try a Stripe the Stadium or whatever, the fans in the navy sections inevitably have way too much orange, lol:

Pretty good but never top notch, IMO.

If there’s a positive basketball takeaway from the TSJ situation, it’s that missing our #1 scoring option has given Coleman the chance to get comfortable in a scoring role. Just earlier this year I’d cringe when he’d take a 3 or try to post up. This’ll help our team regardless, but if TJ comes back, watch out 👀

I've always thought that all the seats should be orange to make it more vibrant.
