Your list got me curious so I started surfing Wikipedia to see who our transfers have been over the years. I agree with a lot of this, but maybe there's some recency bias (esp w/ Harmon) when names like Trent Meacham, Jack Ingram, and Marcus Griffin aren't on there. My list would have Holcomb in the top 5, he did way more for this program than Ray Rice did, and I love RR.

Going to need to trade Dain for a player that fits the system. Maybe Kaufman-Renn even up. Dain great fit for PU although Painter prefers >7’.

Ty is going to be an enigma for us.

Any game where there's a legitimate shot blocker in the game, he probably can't be played UNLESS he starts to be even a little bit of a threat from the perimeter. He's not even bothering to look like the rim. I think that was a concern going into the season and, to me.... that's beyond a concern right now. It's a problem.

The good news is there aren't a ton of big, string l, physical big guys in the conference.

I don't care if he goes 10-40 on the year. At least be a threat to shoot it. All that stuff is on tape and Purdue provides the blueprint.

Thanks to the field of 68, they just gave the guys even more motivational material than they already had
I'd hope that a random website isn't required to be motivated. I'm guessing that the vast majority of the teams even knows what that site is. However, if they were to be dropped to #25 in the top 25....that might create some to get pissed.

I can't totally dismiss some of the pundits way of thinking. Losing an All American, for the majority of teams in the country, are going to take previous expectations and flush them.

Go back and look at this board right after the suspension was announced. I'd say that 40 of the first 50 posts were of the "seasons over" variety. I can understand the national media taking that point of view. We see our guys every second of every game. People around the country see us go down by double digits in the first four minutes, then 20 in the second half. Heck, how many changed the channel? We had our own fans tapping out.

I think that ANY take on our team is fair because we just don't know, in the long run, what we're going to look like. Coaches are going to adjust to what they see on tape. Ty was obviously targeted as a weakness given Painter's game plan. He was unplayable. How do we adjust back?

All that said, beat MSU and string a couple of wins together and all of the above is moot.

Is it legitimate shot blockers or is it Edey? I don't think we have an answer on that one yet.

I don’t think this team needs that extra motivation but we are talking about extremely competitive athletes here. It’s only natural to feed off of that doubt when you are confident in what you have. I expect them to come out on a mission and will be very surprised if we see that slow of a start again all season.

If we go by open gym reports he's still two tiers above anyone else.
