Lot of nastiness out there from opposing fanbases and reporters online. Gonna have to get used to that, will only bring the team closer together
I made the mistake of giving a sh*t what others were saying online yesterday and spent a solid hour defending TSJ, U of I and us fans. Trying to educated the uneducated.

It is tough because if the roles were reversed I’m sure a lot of us would feel the same, but this is just not your usual r*** case and a very unique situation that got him reinstated. But I will not let stupid IU, Purdue and other fans call us classless when they are not making sure they have the facts down first. I hope this case is resolved ASAP and the truth comes out.

If someone says something on social media but no one reads it, does it matter? (Tree falling in the woods metaphor) . . . . I don't use any of the social media platforms, so I don't care what anyone says and it doesn't affect me, my family, or friends and associates.

Just limiting the following statement to the US - in a nation of +300,000,000, if 10,000 people make a statement that says 'X', it is not representative of what the rest of the nation thinks, regardless of what mainstream media says. Where ignorance was once limited to the reach of a person's voice, now it is transmitted to the world and amplified a trillion times to put that ignorance on full display.

Mully and Haugh (more Haugh) outraged that Underwood played Shannon yesterday. Pretty sure Bernstein will go on a rampage about it as well.

I know none of details so I really don't comment one way or the other, but after the judge re-instated him, and he was a starter prior, not sure you could do anything else.
And the really good news in this story? I've never heard of either..........so yes, who cares?

Perhaps they need to secure an invite to High Heat with Chris Russo (the only sports show I watch or listen to, besides Saturday Sports Talk with Loren and Steve) -- and then I'd have an opportunity to judge their credibility in the sports world.

670 the score rarely talks about the state school. They are very Chicago centric. And for the most part I enjoy their radio line ups right now.
But I expect Bernstein to go ballistic today, and I may not tune in.

670 did this morning. They said we should have not played him yesterday.

Remember Domask isnt athletic enough to compete in the Big Ten? Seriously, what does that even mean?
It’s because everybody knows slow nonathletic white boys from Wisconsin can’t keep up in the B1GTen. Domask, Podz…etc.

I think it just means EVERYBODY is wrong sometimes…like seriously everybody.

Putting this on here. Truly disgusted by these two and their views about the TSJ situation and how critical Parrish was on Underwood playing him today. He seems to think that Underwood could've chosen to not play him. Lost a ton of respect for Gary Parrish
They talk about just giving the facts and then say that it was a county judge instead of FEDERAL (Big difference) and also they kept saying TRO, which it is not, but a preliminary injunction (big difference)
So very suspect of what they actually know or have heard about the case and likely just talk to people that read headlines...

TSJ is taking note of all the vitriol coming from the the outside, and IF it comes out he is truly innocent...

I think this is the best Illini team since the ’05 season.

We have 4 starters locked in. That 5th spot is up for grabs right now and it’s hard to say who this team is best with.

I’d like to see Harmon given the chance to start and continue to blossom with Rodgers shifting back to his natural position with plus attributes there.

I think Goode is under rated on this site - he has 2nd highest offensive rating on the team 2 points behind Shannon and 6 points ahead of 3rd place Harmon. He is shooting the highest 3 pt percent on the team at the highest volume per minute and possession.
I think the 20-21 team was the best. They just did not perform in the tournament. Hopefully we can garner a couple of trophies this year. Final four would be nice.

After the Fitzgerald scandal broke, Bernstein talk one afternoon about how he was carefully "groomed" (my word, not his) by Northwestern over the years. Said he was given free court side basketball seats to attend games, Jim Philips would come by and give him and his son t-shirts, and Fitzie would come say hello. What a smarmy group of guys. Also makes me glad we have Josh and not Jim.

This "this isn't an accusation, its a charge" non-sense that I keep hearing just goes to show how uniformed we are as Americans about the legal process. Its sickening to me that someone with a major network platform can blast a video like that essentially convicting a fellow human being in the eyes of the public based on the misunderstanding that there is some major evidentiary hurdle that needs to be cleared for a prosecutors office to charge someone with a crime. Such irresponsible journalism.

Wait, I thought all they talked about 24/7 was the Bears and Justin Fields.

Entitlement started for this era's players from the start of AAU games and being heaped full of praise from early middle school now.....They hear how great they are at an early age and as they get older the praise get's heavier..............

if a frosh is good enough to get major minutes then I am sure BU will play them.....case in point: Kofi & Ayo.......

DGL seems like he has bought into the Illini way and I think if he stays he will be getting major minutes next year and beyond for the Illini program......Minutes are earned in practice and BU has said numerous times that DGL is hard to stop in practice.........

I'm from the old school adage that you have to pay your dues and earn whatever it is you are seeking........Sometimes that adage is short circuited by what they did in prep school or AAU ball........college is a different beast what with frosh playing against more physical and mature players 3-4 years older and WISER.........

There is no substitute for experience and to gain that experience you have to dedicate your energy to achieve whatever personal goals a recruit and then player has........

Too many feel entitled to not put in the effort (NOT saying that is DGL at all ).....parents sometimes hinder their child with a over the hill expectation for them.......she sounds like a handful , but BU controls all of this and I know he won't give up control of playing time to any player or player's family...................

JMHO..............
No argument with anything you said about working hard. But current players might frame paying your dues as working hard at what they consider a 'lesser' school and waiting for a spot at their dream school to open up. Paying your dues might also mean playing hard for smaller NIL until a higher paying opportunity comes along.

What a couple of arseheads.....never have liked Parrish before and after seeing and hearing him have no respect at all....
Disingenuous clickbait performance by a internet wh*re....

Will not ever click or read his BS again.
..he is dead to me...he swims with the fishes....
JMHO
After these posts, I had to listen ...
Parrish's anger was seething from his eyes and gestures
Says he knows all the facts but then shows he doesn't
Doesn't give listeners any facts but repeats over and over arrested for rape. Never states this is in a public bar (or other pertinent affadavit facts) … listeners have to imagine this is in a hotel/apartment
He asks what UI fans would twitter if Sunday had been IN player - and then tells me I would make an uninformed emotional hate IU post. When in fact, I wouldn't post if I didn't read everything first (eg Brandon Miller)
"this is what stupid sports fans say … stop being dumb just because you have a twitter account"
= stop being an idiot just because you have a mic
both Parrish and Norlander think it is a TRO. Perhaps could have debated what does it mean when the judge orders UIUC to treat Shannon as if is innocent.
Rather than asking, should UI play Shannon? they should ask, does not playing Shannon violate the court order?
Perhaps they could have invited on the call, the just vindicated former Buffalo punter who's life and career were ruined from false accusations
have lost all respect for Parrish ... boycotting
