So I guess the NL at that time was Rosy Palm and her 4 friends :sneaky:

It looks like the BIG is loaded. There won't be any "breathers'" in conference play. Not for us or anybody else for that matter.

He got sick a couple more times this offseason, so they decided to just get this done before the year starts. Should be back in practice in a few days.
Maybe. Getting your tonsils out in your 20s (or later) isn't as quick a recovery as when you are like 9. It took me a full 20 weeks to recover when I got mine out at age 30. Your tonsils are simply buried deeper in the surrounding tissue when you are older so it's a more invasive procedure with higher bleed risk.

Highly endorsed. I'd get nasty tonsillitis a couple times a year in H.S and college. Then I got it fall senior year and it didn't go away. Had them removed at Xmas break. The recovery sucked for a week or so (scar tissue apparently builds up every time you have it, so when the surgery occurs it's highly invasive) but then I didn't have a cold again for more than a decade. Hope Tomi goes illness-free this season.

Interesting. I got mine out last year at the age of 30 and while I might have felt some discomfort in my throat, I’d say I was 99% after a couple weeks.

Trying to remember my exact age when I got mine out… 26-28 somewhere in there lol

Anyway I was fine after couple weeks too, but I can’t imagine him being back at practice after only a few days. I was still plenty sore and couldn’t imagine huffing wind playing basketball

My recovery right after my 22nd birthday was awful for a few days. Part of that had to do with the fact that my mom went to the pharmacy to fill the Rx for Tylenol 3 (acetaminophen and codeine) that the surgeon wrote and the pharmacist mistakenly used Children's Tylenol. I couldn't sleep for two days (until my mom figured out why the meds were useless) because every time I started to doze off and swallowed was a new adventure in excruciating pain.

I laugh about it now. At the time I wanted to burn the pharmacy to the ground. The first thing I checked when I got the Rx filled after my daughter's wisdom teeth surgery in '22 was that the meds were potent and as-prescribed. :ROFLMAO:

20... ha! I meant 2 weeks. Butter fingers.

But compare that to my daughter who took about 5 days to recover at age 6.
I do a lot of tonsil surgery (took out two sets today). If he just had them out today he's going to be in a lot of pain for the next several days. Increased risk of bleeding until two weeks after surgery so I generally tell patients no sports for two weeks. Usually the older you are the worse it is but teenagers and early 20 year-olds sometimes recover quickly. I wouldn't expect it, though. Inflamed tonsils usually means more bleeding, more cauterization, and more pain.

Had mine out at 21. Spent two days in the hospital and a couple days recovering. Don't recall any issues after a week. Gone were the continual sore throats.
